The Mantra Recitation Method to Eliminate Karma

(Da Zhi Buddhahood Cultivation Study Group)

I. Instructions:

1. Recite the Incense Anthem


2. Recite the Speech Purification Mantra
3. Recite the Body Purification Mantra
4. Recite the Mind Purification Mantra
5. Recite the Earth Guardians Mantra
6. Recite the Offerings Mantra
7. Recite either one of the following mantras three times:
a. The White Robe Guan Yin Bodhisattva Mantra, or
b. The Great Compassion Mantra
8. Recite the Pure Land Rebirth Mantra (continuously for 30 minutes or more)
9. Recite again either one of the following mantras three times:
a. The White Robe Guan Yin Bodhisattva Mantra, or
b. The Great Compassion Mantra
10. Recite the Heart Sutra
11. Recite the Transfer of Merits Phase

II. Notes:

1. Please recite between 5 a.m. and 12 noon for beginners.


2. Please recite at home and do not recite outside in the public places.
3. Please do not recite in bed or restrooms, except ill or insomnia.

Incense in the censer is now burning.


All the Dharma Realm receives the fragrance.
All Buddhas great congregations perceive it afar.
Auspicious clouds gather everywhere.
In the midst of our utmost sincerity.
Al Buddhas manifest themselves in their entirety.

9. Recite again either one of the following mantras three times:

10. Heart Sutra

When Guan Yin Bodhisattva was practicing the profound and Perfect Wisdom of Attaining
Nirvana,

he saw and realized that the five elements which an individual has: conformation, sensation,
conception, conduct, and consciousness are all in the state of emptiness. Thus, he overcame all ills

and suffering.

Disciple Sariputra, form does not differ from the emptiness, and emptiness does not differ from the
form.

Form is the emptiness, and emptiness is the form.

The same is true for sensation, conception, conduct, and consciousness.

Disciple Sariputra, the emptiness character of all dharma is neither arises nor ceases, neither pure
nor impure, and neither increases nor decreases.

Therefore, in the state of emptiness, there are no conformation, sensation, conception, conduct, and
consciousness.

No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind.

No sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, or mind object.

No eye element and even to a realm of no mind consciousness.

No ignorance and also no ending of ignorance.

Even until no old age and death, and no ending of old age and death.

No truth of suffering, of the cause of suffering, of the cessation of suffering, or of the path leading
to cessation of suffering.

No wisdom and also no attainment because there is nothing to be attained.

Through the reliance on the Perfect Wisdom of Attaining Nirvana, Bodhisattvas have no
attachment and hindrance in their minds. Because there is no more attachment and hindrance,
there is no more fear. They passed far away from erroneous views and wishful-thinking, and
reached Ultimate Nirvana.

Also through the reliance on the Perfect Wisdom of Attaining Nirvana, all Buddhas in the past,
present and future attained ultimate enlightenment.

Therefore, the Perfect Wisdom of Attaining Nirvana is the most divine mantra, the great
enlightening mantra, the utmost mantra, and the incomparable mantra.

It can eradicate all suffering, and it is true and not in vain.

Therefore, utter the Perfect Wisdom of Attaining Nirvana mantra:

is to chant: Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhisvaha!

11. Transfer Merits Phase

All of the above recitations are sincerely transferred to past-lives creditors to eliminate karmas and
to grow blessings and wisdom.
