Regardless of how you decide to present your information, it must flow and be accessible. Be prepared to present
your playlist and some of its highlights.
Autobiography or biography
Like many of the poems we read, the background of the author gives us important context for how to read and
understand the texts. Whether you write an autobiography or have someone write a biography, it needs to be 2-3
paragraphs and well-written.
Project Overview/ Graphic Organizer
This informs your audience and lets them know what to expect from your project. Think of this as your Why Care.
Includes some sort of table of contents.
Protest Playlist
Must Include the Following:
3 songs
3 poems
1 video
1 article of print media
1 Visual with words
1 Additional Creative Writing (song, poem, skit, play, short story, diary, eyewitness)
Analysis
For each section of your playlist include a short annotation (3-8 sentences) addressing why you chose it/how it fits
into your project, what your or the authors intentions are and your reactions or connections to the piece. You
should have 6 analysis paragraphs.
Your protest poem
With your poem, include a paragraph about the process and how you achieved your final draft.
Discussion Questions & Reflection
Include the questions that you prepared for the community discussion, take the time to reflect on how the
discussion went. You may do your reflection in any format youd like ie; word cloud, drawing, poem, paragraph,
song etc..
Endnote: Call to action
Reflect on what youve learned about language, yourself and your community. Give your audience a call to action.
