Job Analysis is a process of gathering facts that would enable job-holder and others to make judgment about the work to be do
understanding the what and why of work to be done. The outcome of this analysis is Job Description.
Job Description is the basic requirement for recruitment, evaluating jobs, performance appraisal, succession planning, identifyi
importantly, it provides clarity to job-holders in terms of what is expected from the job. Job Description includes the following
1) Job Purpose - A short and accurate statement of why the job exists
2) Organization Chart - Representation of the location of the job in the organization
3) Accountability - Details of the areas of work that the job needs to perform and deliver results
4) Interactions - Indicates essential working relationships within and outside the company
5) Key Performance Indicators - Specifies indicators that would be used to measure the performance of the job
6) Key Decisions - Specifies the list of decisions that the job needs to take to perform the job without referring to reportin
7) Skills and Knowledge - States the minimum entry level requirements for the job in terms of educational qualifications, exper
Please note that Key Performance Indicators explain how the performance can be measured, but does not highlight the exact t
financial year. For example, on time delivery of transaction is a Key Performance Indicator, whereas the exact optimal duration
and the manager and incumbent need to set the exact time line during goal setting.
