Good afternoon, my name is Juliana Andrea gallego, my topic will be about social
exclusion and its different consequences.
From the new perspectives of the discipline of social work, it makes us overcome
concepts such as social exclusion where it has been built on special metaphors,
such as marginality in which they manifest as disaffiliation to indicate the
breakdown of family networks, the weakening of social relations or the fragility of
the bonds of vulnerability, for this reason exclusion is the measure by which
inequalities in society are so notorious given that it is inherent in social and
economic systems.
Now social exclusion could be defined as a phenomenon that combines a series
of endogenous factors (sex, age, race ...) and exogenous factors (social, cultural,
economic ...) that hinder or impede the integral development of the individual.
Social exclusion and poverty describe different realities. A person is poor, when
he can not satisfy his "basic human needs" or "when he has an income lower
than 60% of the average of the country in which he lives". For his part, social
exclusion goes beyond poverty "It refers to the multiple and changing factors that
cause certain people to be excluded from normal exchanges, from the practices
and rights of modern society.
