The working party is undertaking research on the various hap/Iwi

structures currently in use and the pro and cons around these.

A hap strategic plan is being drafted based on the input from the hap
hui that have been held. This will require more input from the hap.

This work is ongoing and your input is welcome and vital to ensure the
correct structure is put in place. In the meantime, the Marae Trustees
will continue with the mandate given at the Hap Hui, to be the contact
for all hap matters. This is working well for the most part and is only
interim until a new structure is approved by the hap.

As a Hap Development Working Party it has been determined that the

Communication
Getting the message/news out to the Hap is ongoing for the Marae
Trustees. The Trustees have received some negative feedback but no
offers of tangible help to make it better. We have received good
feedback with regards to this newsletter thank you to those that
appreciate the work put in. We know this could be better still.

To tackle this, we ask anyone that has knowledge of how to prepare a

communication strategy to please come forward and volunteer to be
part of a communications working party, to look at the best value
avenues for communicating with the hap.

At the moment we are seeking advise from an IT specialist who has

advised we can achieve much of what the Hap is asking for by way of
Facebook, with the ability to have a private section for Hap
communications, shopping online, events etc. This may be a good free
solution.

This newsletter takes time to produce and your support, with articles,
pictures, event notifications would be amazing. All contributions to the
newsletter can be emailed to Rongomaraeroa.marae@gmail.com

Some Riddles to ponder

I stay with you all the day but not the night. What am I?

I am not alive but I can grow. I do not have lungs but I need air to
survive. What am I?

What is at the beginning of the end, the start of eternity, at the end of
time and space, was in the middle of yesterday but is nowhere in
tomorrow?
