Explain with examples:
Children are exposed to natural landscapes and their natural beauty. If children cant go
outdoors as much as they had hoped they would be more assessable and interested in this
book.
5. ILLUSTRATION visual elements, design, page layout, word placement, art and/or
photography. Choose a 2-page spread and evaluate illustration with the following:
Visual elements: line, shape, texture, color.
Line: The lines of each page are very short and are bolded in black. The placement of these
lines is on the top left and bottom right of each page.
Shape: There are is a large variety of different shapes included of each page. Circles, triangles,
and squares are the basis of each drawing and large shape included.
Color: Light, smoothing, and relaxing colors are presented.

Explain how illustrations relate to poem content:
Each page includes one largely image going along with the different stanzas. Very pale colors
of light blue and light pink and light green a very relaxing image. This page consists of three
tall green trees and their shadows nearby and at the lower left is tree with hot pink branches
followed by a shadow.

Explain the rating
A very simple read this is book straight to the point free verse poetry, gives children the
opportunity to relate to many of the characters in the book very descriptive vocabulary giving
the reader a close look into each poem.

The children will enjoy the fact that the poems in this book is based on outside activities.
Animals and plants and trees are the focus of each poem. The outside takes the imagination to
different level when exploring outside playing.
