Objectives and context :

The programme is designed to train and develop professionals in their area so that they can act as
Resource Persons in guiding and motivating young students.

Become aware of elements of a good research proposal.

To provide exposure to faculty members to the concepts of Recent advances in renewable energy
technologies.

To provide a forum to exchange views, ideas & the latest innovations in the field of energy.

To offer learning on basics, emerging trends & challenges in the field of renewable energy.

To improve facultys ability in carrying out research, testing & consultancy in the area of Renewable
energy .

To provide hands-on training using MATLAB to demonstrate fundamental concepts and simulation
in the field of renewable energy.

Relevance :

The crises of energy have forced to the developing countries like India to develop new and
alternative methods of power generation. The integration of renewable energy sources like wind and
solar have shown their effectiveness in achieving the aforesaid targets within their limits with the
adoption and development of more advanced technology and have shown road map for their
prospective growth. The geographical map of India provides us tremendous potential to tap the wind
energy available along the long coast line and solar energy is almost uniformly available in most of
the parts of the northern India. The initiatives taken by the Ministry of New and Renewable
Energy(MNRE) to achieve the target of solar energy is 100 GW and wind energy is 60 GW out of 175
GW from renewable energy by 2022, which provides a huge opportunity to all the stakeholders
working in this area.

Participants will benefit from access to the extensive research and methodologies developed over
decades.

Share scholarly findings on teaching and learning with participants. Participants will explore recent
advances in academic research, research-based instructional practices and techniques for
engineering students. This will increase both competence and impact.

Upgrade and improve teaching, training, content development and school leadership skills of the
participants.
