c. Task Analysis

1. Place the Reindeer cut out on a wall (links provided below)

2. Free potential hazards around the area
3. Line the participants 5 feet behind the Reindeer
4. Give each child a reindeer nose with a piece of tape on the back
5. Put the blindfold on the participant
6. Have the participate spin around 5 times
7. The participant should then try to pin the nose on the reindeer
8. Each participant should get a turn to pin the nose
9. Whoever is closest to the Reindeers nose wins!

f. You could adapt Pin the Nose on the Reindeer for individuals who have Autism.

Many people who have Autism are sensitive to various stimuli. To avoid the

overstimulation of the participants, the Recreational Therapist should not

blindfold the child with ASD, as they may be sensitive to the texture of the
 blindfold. Instead, the RT should allow the participant to simply close his/her

eyes. If the participant did not feel comfortable spinning with their eyes closed,

the RT could simply direct the individual to close their eyes and walk towards the

reindeer. The RT should also be willing to help guide an individual to the wall if

they are nervous or upset about not being able to see.
