Taking the TOEIC

Most major companies require their

Employees to take the TOEIC exam.

Most require a score of 750 and above.

A 900+ score is like a Willie Wonka

Golden Ticket in the employment market.

Japanese companies have come to

realize that in order to be globally
competitive they need to learn English.

UPDATES
The updates were applied to tests taken in Japan
and Korea only.

The biggest changes in the new listening portion

of the test is that it now uses four accents --
American, British, Canadian and Australian --
and each conversation are relatively longer than
the past ones and has more speakers.
UPDATES
In the reading section, error recognition
questions were replaced by fill-in-the blanks
based on long passages.

Test-takers were required to answer questions

by reading two interrelated passages instead of
a single passage. The test update also included
frequently used communication formats (e.g.,
text messaging and instant messaging) in the
questions.
