DISCUSSION ( aiv test )

This experiment purposely conducted to determine the aggregate impact value (AIV) of
aggregate. In this experiment, there are three test that been conduct by using the same course
aggregate that been taken from the same sourses. This aggregate the been washed and being oven
dried.

From the experiment, we obtained the result and observe that the result was slightly different
between these three samples. The percentage of the aggregate impact value for three sample that we
test are 27.65%, 28.98%, and 25.52%. Therefore the average percentage of the AIV test is 27.38%.

Through this experiment, there are a few factor or error that can make the result different, as
an example the sample not being oven dried properly after be washed and not within it maximum time
and temperature.

Besides that, the wrong amount of tamping is also will be effected the result. When the
tamping is not do properly, the aggregate will not compact and leave a space that can reduce the
weight of the aggregate. Lastly, the aggregate may be not being properly sieved.
