PROJECTS EXECUTED
Project #1 Backpressure Study in Exhaust Muffler of Diesel Engine.
Employer ACRI
Role CFD Engineer
Software ANSA, Ansys-Meshing, FLUENT and CFX-Post
Description The essential function of a muffler is to route the exhaust gases from the
engine exhaust manifold while reducing the noise and back-pressure. Noise
reduction is an emerging concern in the automotive industry, and reduction in
back-pressure enhances the fuel economy of the engine.
Responsibilities Created the unstructured mesh for the various muffler model and carried out
CFD analysis to find the pressure drop across the muffler. Post processed the
data total pressure distribution in the muffler.
Project #7 Aft-Body drag analysis for the AMCA aircraft for subsonic Mach numbers
using OpenFoam.
Employer Aeronautical Development Agency, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Bangalore
Role Senior Research Fellow
Software ANSA,ICEM CFD, OpenFoam.
Description Aft body of the Aircraft was giving more drag which was contributing to
reduction in aircraft performance, this analysis was carried out to reduce drag of
the aft body.
Responsibilities Creating structured mesh for aft body and carried out the analysis for different
Mach numbers.
Project #8 Aerodynamic load estimation for AMCA aircraft using CFD solvers and
transferring aero loads to the structural mesh for structural analysis.
Employer Aeronautical Development Agency, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Bangalore
Role Senior Research Fellow
Software ICEM CFD , FLUENT CFD++, Matlab
Description External aerodynamic loads over the aircraft and all the control surfaces were
calculated using Fluent software and the same had been transferred to
structural mesh in the form of delta Cp.
Responsibilities Creating the mesh for full aircraft and carrying out the analysis for different
Mach numbers and post processing the data in delta Cp form and same as
been transferred to structural mesh to carry out the analysis
Project #9 Aerodynamic load analysis for weapon bay door of AMCA aircraft for
different door positions.
Employer Aeronautical Development Agency, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Bangalore
Role Senior Research Fellow
Software ANSA, ICEM CFD , FLUENT, CFD++,Matlab
Description Aircraft was modeled with weapon bay door opened with different angle and
analysis was carried out using Fluent software for different Mach numbers, then
the Cp data was transferred to structural finite element mesh which was used to
carry out the structural analysis.
Responsibilities Creating the mesh for full aircraft and carrying out the analysis for different
Mach numbers and post processing the data in delta Cp form and same as
been transferred to structural mesh to carry out the analysis.
Project #10 Development of an approach for coupled FSI analysis and validation
