Employer ACRI
Role CFD Engineer
Software ANSA, Ansys-Meshing, FLUENT and CFX-Post
Description The essential function of a muffler is to route the exhaust gases from the
engine exhaust manifold while reducing the noise and back-pressure. Noise
reduction is an emerging concern in the automotive industry, and reduction in
back-pressure enhances the fuel economy of the engine.

Responsibilities Created the unstructured mesh for the various muffler model and carried out
CFD analysis to find the pressure drop across the muffler. Post processed the
data total pressure distribution in the muffler.

complete automobile to predict the temperature profile on the automobile
arising due to Engine/Exhaust as heat source.
Responsibilities Created the unstructured mesh for full vehicle and carried out the analysis in
FLUENT code and post process the data to obtain the temperature profile over
the car. Modified in the air flow path to provide maximum heat dissipation and
to deflect heat from critical parts. Optimized the Engine Fan shroud so as to
keep engine temperatures within permissible limits, and to reduce pressure
losses inside the fan shroud. Performed Vehicle Aero analysis to optimize
stability and reduce drag force on upcoming products. Co-ordination with
testing team to co-relate CFD results with Testing Results.
Project #3 Thermal modeling of vehicle exhaust manifold
Employer ACRI
Role Project Scientist
Software ANSA, Ansys-Meshing, FLUENT and CFX-Post.
Description Exhaust manifold is a part of IC engines, its role is to collect and carry the
exhaust gases away from the cylinder head and send it to the exhaust system,
with a minimum of back pressure. The exhaust manifold plays an important role
in the performance of an engine system. Exhaust Manifolds are affected by
thermal stresses and deformations due the temperature distribution, heat
accumulation or dissipation and other related thermal characteristics.
Responsibilities Analysing the Temperature distribution across the vehicle exhaust.
Modifying exhaust mounting brackets to optimize heat dissipation.•
Modifying the exhaust so as to prevent critical parts of the vehicle from
overheating.

Fluent code and post processing the results.

Project #5 Numerical simulation of combustion with CO2 Dilution in a Gas turbine

Combustor.
Employer Aeronautical Development Agency, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Bangalore
Role Senior Research Fellow
Software Fluent, ICEM CFD,ANSA

Employer Aeronautical Development Agency, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Bangalore
Role Senior Research Fellow
Software Fluent, CFD++, OpenFoam, ICEM CFD, ANSA
Description AMCA is 5th generation stealth aircraft, thus the engine face need not be
visible to IR rays, thus duct is of serpentine shape this poses some challenges
in flow through duct such as flow separations and pressure losses.
Responsibilities Carrying out analysis of flow through duct modifying the geometry to reduce the
separation and increase the pressure recovery by using the CFD software.
