4. Prof. Hari H. Hablani Presented a two-week summer course "Spacecraft and

Payload Pointing and Control" which was attended by some
12 distinguished scientists and engineers from ISRO Space
Applications Center, Satellite Center; and DRDO Research
Center Imarat, Advanced Systems Laboratory, and
Electronic and Radar Development Establishment. At the
end of the course, the participants expressed their huge
admiration for the course contents, its uniqueness, usefulness
and relevance to what they are doing in their respective
centers, and its patient delivery.
5. Prof. Hari H. Hablani (As Co P.I.) ISRO funded “Differential NavIC & GAGAN aided Inertial
Navigation with Applications to Land, Air and Space
Vehicles “, 2017-2019, Rupees 37.32 lacs;
The work done under this project received critical praise in
the annual review from experts in ISRO-SAC, Ahmedabad.
The work was conducted mainly by Mr. Althaf (PhD student
of Prof. H.B. Hablani and Dr. A. Datta).
6. Dr. Abhirup Datta Awarded Early Career Research Award by DST, August
2017 (Amount ~ Rs. 45 lacs)
7. Ms. Madhurima Choudhury Awarded 3rd prize in Poster presentation at the Young
(DST INSPIRE Doctoral Fellow) Astronomer’s Meeting held in IUCAA, Pune (September,
2017). She is working with Dr. Datta for her PhD.
8. Dr. Abhirup Datta MoU signed between ISRO-SAC and IITI for acquiring
IRNSS receivers and establishing a Space Weather
Monitoring Laboratory at IIT Indore
9. Dr. Bhargav Vaidya Advanced to become prime developer of the publicly
available PLUTO code (MHD simulations); previously, a
collaborator.
10. Dr. Abhirup Datta Invited on the International Panel for one SKA Key Science
Team Board, to represent India
11. Dr. Abhirup Datta Awarded Associateship of Inter-University Centre for
Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), from August 1,
2016, for 3 years.
