Teaching is a career that provides challenges, excitement, personal reward and a chance to encourage
and support others to achieve their goals.

There are many personal qualities and skills that make someone a good teacher.

These include:

* being good at explaining things

Both of them have somewhat different religion – moral and socio – cultural norms and values. They are
further stratified into sub cultures of castes, occupations, groups, religions and regional communities. As
a result of education, caste domination is waving although social stratification on the basis of class and
creed still persists. Everyone is imbued with search for fresh fields and pastures a new occupational
roles. The social mobility of the people is increasing. From traditional closed society, we are moving
towards the modern and egalitarian.

So, the responsibility comes on the shoulders of teachers, who are called the ‘Builders of the Nation’ to

These three factors are different in nature. Two factors, professional characteristics and teaching skills

society because they demonstrate the importance of socialization and humanization. They create good

The role of teacher in the educational set up is very important. It is a two-way process i.e. student
and teacher, i.e. two sides of the same coin. It is beyond argument that teacher is a backbone of the
society, country and the educational system. He represents whole of the society in school which is a
sub-society or mini society. The citizens of tomorrow are his students and the future of the country
lies in his hand.

Teacher plays an important role in different capacities. He works as the director of the
school/student and issues directions and directives in a manner that cannot be mended. Students
receive directions from his personality and he himself introduces several techniques to direct the
students like co-curricular activities and extra-co curricular activities in the school.

Teacher is also a part of the organisational set up of the school. As such, he plays an important role in
the organisation of the school, activities of the school and organising the transitional etc. Actually he
is the administrator of the school, class, and management. Since students are the main target in
whole of the educational system it need well qualified administrator, organizer and the teacher in the
person to whom everybody looks.

Teacher also plays an important role as a helper and assists the school-students in the whole of the
set up of education. He assists the students in their problem and establishes the harmonious

Teacher is an advisor of the school, parents and the students. The Principal and the Management
