1. For the circuit in Figure Q1, determine:


(a) The peak load voltage
(b) The average (dc) load voltage
(c) The new values of VL(pk), Vave, and Iave if the diode is reversed.

2. For the circuit in Figure Q2, determine:


(a) The values of VL(pk), Vave, and the PIV of each diode.
(b) The new values of VL(pk), Vave, and Iave if both the diodes are reversed.

3. A negative center-tapped full-wave rectifier with a 900Ω load is driven by a 16 Vac


transformer. Draw the schematic diagram of the circuit and its output waveform. Determine
the following values: VL(pk), Vave, and Iave .

4. A bridge rectifier with a 1.2 kΩ load is driven by a 48 Vac transformer. Draw the schematic
for the circuit and calculate the dc load voltage and current values. Determine the PIV of
each diode in the circuit.

5. For the circuit in Figure Q5,


(a) Determine the positive peak load voltage
(b) Draw the output waveform and label the peak voltage values on the waveform.

(b) Determine the power rating required for the Zener diode and the load resistor, RL.
