It is mandatory for the waste containers to comply with the requirements by--Serbian law and
requirements of the EU. The stronger requirements are applicable. In case of discrepancies, the
Serbian law will prevail.
Wherever reference is made in the Technical Specifications to specific standards and codes to be
met by the goods and materials to be furnished or tested, the provisions of the latest current edition
or revision of the relevant standards or codes in effect shall apply, unless otherwise expressly
stated in the Specifications. Where such standards and codes are national or related to a
particular country or region, other authoritative standards that ensure substantial equivalence to the
standards and codes specified will be acceptable
Hazardous materials
All substances used in the waste containers shall not cause a health hazard for personnel engaged
with the operation, repair or maintenance with the waste containers. Such materials are, for
example, insulating materials, paints, seals, fluids or friction materials. Materials, which are harmful
to health and/or the environment, shall not be used as far as possible, in particular if the disposal of
such materials presents a problem. Asbestos containing material is not allowed. A list of all
hazardous materials proposed to be used must be submitted with the following details: name of
substance, supplier, where installed in the waste containers, the nature of the health risks involved
and the quantity of each substance. The list shall be submitted for the Purchaser’s approval
together with the design proposal. Where plastics are used, PE should be preferred over PVC.
