NOTE:- Specification D 1000 shall be taken as forming part of this Specification.

~. GENERAL

Clock-unit, GMT 34 provides for the operation of 30 second and 1 second

electric pulse clocks, and for the distribution of 30 second, '6 second and 1
second pulses to the telephone apparatus.
Clock-unit, GMT 35 provides for the operation of 30 second electric-pulse
clocks.
Each unit compris~s the relative items shown in the Table of Components.
The relative drawings and specifications are specified therein.

2. WIRING
The wiring of the units shall be in accordance .;ith Diagram GMT 34/1 or
GMT 35/1 and shall be wired with Wire 1 P •.V. 'J. No. 3A; 1W/6! lh.. to

Each unit shall be wired for the maximum ecpipment; the wire s shall be
neatly laced into a form and provided with sufficient slack to allow of each
mounting being moved through an angl e of 90° to the baseboard. Wire s not
actually u sed shall be neatly laced in the cable form in such a posit ion that
they are readily avail able when requir ed.
3. INSULATION RESISTANCE
The insula tion r esistance between any two points that are not r equired to
be electrically connected shall be not l e ss than 1000 megohms when tested with
2.50 vol t s n.c.
4• SAMPLES
A:n ad:vame sample of each unit shall be submitted for appr oval bef ore pro-
ceeding with the manufac ture of t he bulk supplie s, unless a sample of identical
c onstruction has.been previously app roved by the Enginee ring Department, P Branch.

5• MARKIIGS
Typical markings:- ~/ 2 shall be stamped on the base as shown on
Drawings No s . P/.r 7.5 and P)r 79.
(The l etters FH are typical, c:nd sl:>itll be substituted by the approved code letters
.all oca ted to the manufacturer. )
In addition a Label , No. 1 ~ engrav~d with the p.o. stoc k list t itle and the
number of the diagr am, viz:
