Presentation relevant information

Managing a large infrastructure of an organization is very stressful to handle because of

different system, network and components failure. It is a big responsibility of the IT manager/ IT
department to protect and to maintain the whole infrastructure of an organization. Usually in IT
Department has the lowest number of employee. It is very difficult to find or to troubleshoot a
whole infrastructure with a small number of employee. To address this problem, vDesk application
is one of the solution used by an IT support to manage the whole computer resources especially
in network infrastructure of an organization. With this application you can simply monitor the
activity of the employee on real-time, virtually remote the computer software issues without going
in the place, deploying a clean operating system(O.S.) in many clients using ghost server, admin
can send messages or warning if users are doing unauthorized tasks, protect against threats, port
setting management (eg. Admin can disable the usb port of the client/ employee), easy
deployment of an application in a single click, can create image used for back-up purpose and
etc. This application requires a network connection even though without internet to make it
functional. The installation has two option the client and server mode; client should be install to
the computer of the employees and the server is for the admin. Remember, it requires a basic
knowledge in network IP addressing. In installing an OS make sure that the UEFI(unified
extensible firmware interface) and fast boot in BIOS(Basic Input output system) are disabled and
also the legacy in BIOS is enabled to boot the client into network.

The most important topic of the speaker is the hands-on demonstration of the vDesk
application in titled “SVP VDI Management”; VDI – virtual desktop infrastructure. Virtual desktop
infrastructure (VDI) is virtualization technology that hosts a desktop operating system on a
centralized server in a data center. VDI is a variation on the client-server computing model,
sometimes referred to as server-based computing. The demonstration done by two computers
connected in peer to peer network and he showed up how the application works/ operates and
also the special features of the software.

Skills/ knowledge gained

 We learned how to install a clean operating system (OS) in another computer with the use
of vDesk application through network.
 Find an easier way to make it effortless.
 Network is very crucial in this application.
 We know why administrators in a large company has big salary because of the
responsibility in his shoulder.
 Choice a software that is user-friendly and has many features that can satisfied to your
needs.
