Slow development of the country

In India, communities who are economically, socially and mentally backward, find it very tough
to compete in open competition. That is the reason reservation was introduced in the system.
Reservation helps backward communities to get included in education and in government jobs
which eventually helps our county to develop faster. The end of caste-based reservation will
result in the slow growth of the country.

It helps in empowering the low caste people.

The caste-based reservation was introduced in our system for the upliftment of backward classes
in the society. These classes have always been exploited by the upper classes of the society and
reservation helps them in getting their rights and an equal place in the society. If caste-based
reservation ends, the upliftment of backward classes will become impossible and the
exploitation will increase.

Those opposing the proposed amendment are only exposing their thinking that Dalits and other
backward sections should remain subservient to the ‘upper’ castes and should never be allowed
to participate in the decision-making process. As long as this attitude remains, reservation will
continue.

The ruling elites do all that they can to prevent Dalits from gaining the benefits of reservation.
Merit is not the monopoly of the ‘upper’ castes. Those who oppose reservation should realise
that the backward sections constitute the majority and the majority is for reservation.

India’s illiteracy rate will fall down

Many backward classes, who are living in miserable conditions, get a chance to educate their
children through to reservation system. These children further contribute in making India more
educated and more developed. The end of caste-based reservation will end the education
opportunities for backward class.

It started well but rules needs to be amended

I am sure most of us don't even know why reservation came into picture in the first place. We
start questioning/cursing the system just because we are not directly getting benefited out of it.
Was it given to the people randomly or on lottery basis, NO! It was given to those backward
community who had no education, money, awareness etc.The country was not treating the
backward community as equal. Unfortunately reservation was based on the caste system (and
not on the economic conditions of the people) .It was easy at that point of time to recognize
under privileged based on their castes(as most of these under privileged people belonged to
some specific castes). In today's relevance one could question or argue over the caste as the sole
factor to identify these people who are given reservations, but no one can deny that it has
actually helped India in getting only better. Every system/ rule has its pros and cons, so has
reservation system and it needs to updated to match the current scenario/perspective/needs.
If a nation has to develop/prosper then it will have to take all of citizens forward, leaving a group
of people behind wont help.
