Learning Explains Filipino artists’ roles and identify their contribution to
Competencies contemporary arts
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the period, students are expected to:
a. identify National Artist and their specific contribution in the Philippine Art;
b. understand the order of the National Artist through group activity; and
c. appreciate the roles of the artist in the preservation and promotion of Philippine
arts.
II. SUBJECT MATTER:
a. Content : Order of National Artists
b. Reference : Contemporary Philippine Arts From the Regions, pg. 33-38
c. Materials : Cartolina, Manila paper, bondpaper(KWL),
bondpaper(Storyboard) and book
B. Lesson Proper
B.1 Motivation
Do you know any of the Filipino artists? Are you familiar with their
artwork?
B.2 Activity (Focused Group Discussion)
The class will be group in to 4 and have a group discussion about
the national artist in the field of music using K-W-L.
B.3. Analysis
Ask students the following questions:
1. How do you find our activity?
2. Is it easy or hard to identify the national artists?
B.4. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the lesson for deepening of understanding
of National Artists in the field of music
B.5. Application (Individual Activity)
Students will be group according to its previous groupings and fill
the storyboard. Name of the artist and their contribution to the
Philippine art and on the last part is their statement on how to
promote the Philippine contemporary art in the field of music.
