Proponent
I. Title: Juniour High School Culinary Arts Kitchen

Duration: January 20-March 30, 2018

Venue: Panikian National High School

II. Rationale

In the advent of the K-12 educational program in the Philippines,

significant and major reforms in the curriculum implementation were
indeed apparent and are taking place to every institution. In sway of this
modification is in the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) and
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track specializations which may
be taken between Grades 9 to 12. Exploratory Subjects at 40 hours per
quarter are taken during Grades 7 to 8.
Relevant to this shift, Panikian National High School offers
Cookery (NC II) as its exploratory subjects in Junior High School which
will allow our students to acquire knowledge of the use of tools,
equipment, and paraphernalia in the field of cooking and perform
maintenance of tools, equipment, and paraphernalia. It will be a high
time also for them in learning the practice of Occupational Health and
Safety Procedures in the said ground. Eventually, the course will lead
also to National Certificate II (after passing the Assessment), a
document useful enough for students to earn jobs related to it.
With this, the school now is in need of a Culinary Arts kitchen
where the students enrolling on the said exploratory subject can perform
their laboratory tasks during the process of attaining the competencies
allocated for them. Likewise, the room will be a repository of the school’s
kitchen utensils, usually found in the computer laboratory at present.
The said project will be of noteworthy value and use as the school
continues to journey in the implementation of the k-12 programs.

III. Objectives
This project aims to:
1. Provide students with laboratory classroom intended for their
demonstration cooking.
2. Provide the school with a safe room where its kitchen paraphernalia
can be placed.
3. Give the school a specific place serving as a location for storing,
cooking and preparing food (and doing related tasks such as
dishwashing)

IV. Strategies

The proposed project can be achieved through the financial

assistance to be provided by the Barangay Local Government Unit of
Panikian through the support of its dynamic Barangay Captain
Honorable Juan C. Intano.
