Summary

The following data & chart reveals that, in 1960s agriculture sector occupied the maximum contribution
in GDP with 62%. That reflects that on that time Bangladesh was highly agricultural based country & most
of the GDP derived from agriculture. It also reflects in the chart that in every decades thereafter, an
average 10% share has been shifted from Agriculture to other two sectors. Currently it is continuing its
declining pattern.

Industry was by 5% in 1960s and it was increasing in a steady manner over decades. But around 1970 to
1980, a sharp increased had been occurred and from then it is moving in a steady growing pattern.

Service industry had been flourished on a regular basis in each decades. Exceptional decline of GDP
occurred in 2000 to 2010 decades. However, this sector gained her momentum in recent days. Currently
this is the highest GDP contributor in Bangladesh economy.
