PERIMETER COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS

 PLEASE DO NOT STAPLE YOUR APPLICATION DOCUMENTS TOGETHER. Please use paper clips rather than staples when
putting together your application packet(s).

 Carefully review the available scholarships and determine the scholarships in which you meet the eligibility requirements.

 Apply only for the scholarships in which you meet all of the criteria. Don’t meet all of the criteria? Do not apply for the
scholarship, as your application will not be considered. Scholarship criteria are legally binding guidelines set forth by
scholarship donors and we must follow them without exception.

 You must submit a separate application and a separate set of supporting documentation for each and every scholarship
in which you apply. If you are applying for five scholarships, we will need five separate applications and five separate sets
of supporting documents (the content of the documents can be the same, but we need five copies). Our office cannot copy
application materials for you.

 After you have carefully reviewed the eligibility requirements and are ready to apply; complete the Scholarship Application
at http://perimeter.gsu.edu/files/2017/03/October-Deadline-Scholarship-Application.pdf. If the link is not working go to
our website http://perimeter.gsu.edu/student-accounts/scholarships/. Expand the Preparing your Applications heading to
find the application). Then gather all of the listed required supplemental application materials in the Must Submit areas.
Again, our office cannot copy application materials for you so please provide enough copies to support your application(s).

 All required materials must be postmarked by Sunday, October 1, 2017. We recommend using US postal mail only to avoid
delays. If you plan to hand deliver your applications, they must be delivered by 4:00 PM EST on Friday, September 29, 2017
or received in intercampus mail by 4:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2017. Sliding applications under the scholarship
office door after 4:00 PM EST on Friday, September 29, 2017 will not be acceptable, please take your applications to the 24
hour post office if you miss the hand delivery deadline.

 Need a letter of recommendation? Be sure to give those writing your letters of recommendation AT LEAST two weeks to
complete your request. Letters of recommendation must also be submitted by the deadline, so please plan ahead and
request letters of recommendation early. FYI letters of recommendation cannot be emailed to our office.

 If you will not be returning to Perimeter College for the Spring 2018 semester you should not apply for these scholarships.
Funds for these scholarships will not be posted to recipients’ accounts until the Spring 2018 semester and cannot be
transferred to other colleges within Georgia State University.

 We confirm all applications received. Please allow up to 30 business days after the deadline date (Monday through Friday
excluding holidays) for confirmation. You should receive a confirmation email from us by Monday, November 13, 2017. Please do
not contact our office requesting confirmation prior to Monday, November 13, 2017. Responding to these requests delays
processing. If you need immediate confirmation, we recommend hand delivering your application to our office or coming to a
collection day. Confirmation will be sent to your GSU email address only, not your personal email address.
Students who will not be returning to Perimeter College for the Spring 2018 semester should not apply for these scholarships. Funds for these

What happens after I submit my application?

We confirm all applications received. Please allow up to 30 business days after the deadline date (Monday through Friday excluding
holidays) for confirmation. You should receive a confirmation from us by Monday, November 13, 2017. Please do not contact our office
requesting confirmation prior to Monday, November 13, 2017. Responding to these requests delays processing. If you need immediate
confirmation, we recommend hand delivering your application to our office or coming to a collection day. Confirmation will be sent to your
GSU email address.

The confirmation email will outline our selections timeline i.e. when we believe we will be able to notify recipients. We will give you a date
as to when we believe the process will conclude and when everyone will be notified. We will email you either way (if you have or have not
received a scholarship). If you are a recipient you will need to respond to our office, there are things you will need to complete in order to
have your scholarship processed and you will need to respond quickly. You will be given a deadline in which to respond and if we have not
heard from you, we will move on to the runner up of the scholarship. It is critical that you check your email throughout the process.
Students who will not be returning to Perimeter College for the Spring 2018 semester should not apply for these scholarships. Funds for these
scholarships will not be posted to student accounts until the Spring 2018 semester.
