PROBLEM
The customer wanted to preserve a recently refurbished rotor for
a maximum period of two years until it was put back into service.
The rotor was to be placed in a wooden crate and stored in an in-
door warehouse. The customer wanted to have a practical long
term preservation solution that was simple to apply and doesn’t
require excessive removal.

APPLICATION
After visually inspecting the rotor surface for cleanliness and readi-
ness for applying the preservation procedure, it was sprayed uni-
formly with VpCI®-368 corrosion protection coating and left to dry.
The coated rotor was then wrapped with MilCorr® VpCI® Shrink
Film which was shrunk to a taut fit with a portable heat gun. The
preserved rotor was then placed in wooden crate ready for storage.

CONCLUSION
Customer was satisfied by the straight forward preservation pro-
cedure and decided to start offering preservation services to its cli-
ents.
