Text: Isaiah 61:1-11
Intro.
 This is a Literal promise that will happens to the Nation of Israel. ( to the
church of Jesus Christ Today)
 We call them the REMNANT of Israel
REMNANT- a small surviving group, the one who hold fast to the end. Those
who have been under the Babylonian captivity who waited for the promise.
CHURCH- those who remain faithful to HIM.
 Isaiah 42:9New Living Translation (NLT)
Everything I prophesied has come true, and now I will prophesy again.
I will tell you the future before it happens.”

Context: This Chapter Speaks of:

1. The Ministry of Jesus
 The Empowerment of Christ ministry on earth (Future, yet now is
being fulfilled) Luke 4:16-22
 He came to heal the damage that SIN brings.
 Sin has done great damage, so there needs to be a great work of
redemption
 He’ll come to take vengeance, brings comfort, restoration and
deliverance.
 Planting a tree of righteousness ( the church)
2. The Ministry of the Church v4
 We will rebuild what is ruined
 We will be set apart to serve the Lord
 We will receive our GREAT blessings
 3. The Great blessing of the Church v7
 A TURN OF EVENTS under the anointing of the Spirit and the
ministry of Jesus.

4. The everlasting Covenant v8.

 The Lord explains how sacrifices such as a burnt offering can really just
amount to robbery if the heart isn’t right.
 Sacrifice alone is not enough.
 This everlasting covenant brings blessing, and blessings so prominent
that the blessed shall be known among the Gentiles (the Church). In
fact, all who see them shall acknowledge them. v9
Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that
great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make
you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing
in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

 The blessings of the Lord grow. It isn’t manufactured but it grows.
For as the earth brings forth its bud, as the garden causes the things
that are sown in it to spring forth before all the nation v11

so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth
before all the nations. V11
