Ministry for the Sick and Homebound
We are grateful to those who give of their time and
care to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners
who cannot make it to church due to sickness or
infirmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish
office.
SVDP Society
MISSION - The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a
lay Catholic organization whose mission is: To live
the Gospel message by serving Christ in the
poor with love, respect, justice and joy.
VALUES - The Mission of the Society of St. Vincent
de Paul implies that as Vincentians we: see Christ in
anyone who suffers, come together as a family,
have personal contact with the poor, help in all pos-

you are registered in the parish just because you at-
tend Mass here. If you are we have no record of
your parish membership, it could be quite embar-
rassing to us, or to you or your family, when some-
one wishes to make wedding plans, have a baby
baptized, or if you have been asked to act as a
sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation. Please fill out
the tear off section on the front of the bulletin and re-
turn it to the office or through the collection basket.

On this Sunday of
Epiphany, Isaiah calls
across the millennia to
praise Jerusalem and
extol the hope that it
represents for the
world. Today, Isaiah
might praise us for all
of the wonders we do: for our lofty buildings, our
mastery of the skies, our miracles in medicine, and
the places where peace still hangs on.
Pope Francis envisioned a clearer epiphany when
he said in 2013: “In a world where there is so much
wealth, so many resources to feed everyone, it is
unfathomable that there are so many hungry chil-
dren, that there are so many children without an ed-
ucation, so many poor persons. Poverty today is a
cry. We all have to think if we can become a little

Christmas Campaign -
Update
An amazing response to this
year’s Christmas Campaign
for the Hall Kitchen. St. Helen’s community has ris-
en to the challenge and surpassed it! To date we
have collected $29,935.30 in donations thanks to
your generosity. Our benefactor’s $10,000 will be
added to this for a grand total of $39,935.30! Up-
dates to the basement kitchen process will be post-
ed in the bulletin as we have them. Again, we thank
you for your generosity!

The Second Vatican Council’s declaration on Chris-
tian Unity expresses the Church’s heart on this is-
sue, “The restoration of unity among all Christians is
one of the principal concerns of the Second Vatican
Council. Christ the Lord founded one Church and
one Church only. However, many Christian com-
munions present themselves to men as the true in-
heritors of Jesus Christ; all indeed profess to be
followers of the Lord but differ in mind and go their
different ways, as if Christ Himself were divided.
Such division openly contradicts the will of Christ,
scandalizes the world, and damages the holy cause
of preaching the Gospel to every creature.” (Unitatis
