Dear Friend,
Greetings to you from everyone here at the church. We serve a
wonderful and creative God who loves us with an everlasting love!
Sometimes we have a wrong impression of God and what He is really
like. I want you to know that He is very patient with us and is kindhearted
towards us. Seeing that He is God and there is none other as wise and
understanding as He is, He offers each of us a perfect plan for our lives. It is
not based on comparison with others, but each of us are unique, and He has
drawn up the blueprints for our lives accordingly. The Bible says that each of
us are fearfully and wonderfully made! Every detail of our lives were
carefully thought out. Unfortunately, we often let things in our lives that take
us off track, or corrupt the image we were meant to follow. But, fear not! The
Lord Jesus remedied that, for He fulfilled all the Scriptures concerning
Himself, so He could restore us to our original state! After King David
sinned, in his repentance he wrote these words: "Restore unto me the joy of
Thy salvation..." (Psalm 51:12). The word "restore" does not mean the Lord
has to start all over again with us, in essence placing us in the position of
failure again. But He will bring us all the way back to His original plan for us,
His blueprint for our lives. In that plan you will find peace with God, joy and
gladness of heart, which is our strength, and incomparable love, which is our
confidence.
Many years ago, me and my wife were driving home from church one
evening when suddenly she said, "Pull over!" Being the dutiful husband I am,
I immediately pulled the car over and stopped, and asked, "What's the
matter?" She said, "I want that chair by the side of the road." Someone put an
old chair out with the garbage. It was old and used, some of the padding was
exposed, and it was dirty and worn out. I didn't want to touch it, let alone
bring it into my house! But she said, "It's exactly what I've been looking for!"
Needless to say, I ended up putting it in the back of the van and took it home.
The next day she called a friend of ours, who promptly came over to see if he
could do anything with it. They both oogled and ogled over it, seeing things
in that old chair that made me shake my head and roll my eyes!
He took this old junky chair, and a few weeks later, returned with a
gorgeous new chair! The old fabric and padding was replaced with new
materials. The wooden legs were sanded, polished and shined. It looked better
than new! This is what the Lord Jesus does with us when we give Him our
whole hearts. He makes all things new! Don't say you are just too old for God
to do anything with you. Moses began his ministry at 80 years old! Abraham
received His promise when he was at the ripe age of 100! Don't try to figure
out how or what He can make of you. He sees things in you that no one else
sees. He is the Master at restoring lives. He has plans for your life and the
tools to accomplish the job, no matter how old or young you are! His plans
for you are of peace and goodness, and not of evil. When the Lord receives
your surrendered heart, He fills you with hope and satisfies you with good
things. Like that chair, which became one of my favorites, the Lord becomes
that thing you longed for, that missing piece of your life. He is become our
salvation, our confidence, our strength, and a very present help in the time of
trouble. He said in Jeremiah 29:12, "Then shall ye call on Me, and ye shall
go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you." No longer is He far off
from you. But He begins to fulfill His will in your life! "And ye shall seek
Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart. And I
will be found of you, saith the Lord." He wants you to seek for Him so you
may find Him!
Let this coming year of 2018 be yours to seek the Lord and feel after
Him and find Him. Remember, the Bible says, "That they should seek the
Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though He be not
far from every one of us" (Acts 17:27). You see, He is not very far from
every one of us! May God bless you!
Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel Bossidy
