REACTION PAPER ON " TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD"

The movie to kill a mockingbird showed that a being a lawyer is not

prestigous all the time because of the risk that they might encounter while
handling a case,because of wrongful acts those people who thinks that they are
fighting at the wrong side, but despite the risk, lawyers should still fight for the
cause of their clients in order to avoid conviction of inocent persons ,just like in
the movie, Aticus the lawyer who was the counsel of Tom Robinson who was
allegedly the person who raped Maiela Eule,his children's life was put to danger
because of the case.

In the movie Maiela who was the victim testified during the trial that the person
who raped and beated her was left handed, it was the only thing she can
remember because she did not see the face of the culprit while the crime was
being committed and when it was Tom Robinson's time to testify, it was shown
that he was right handed and he cannot use his left hand, contrary to the
testimony of Maiela, because of an accident that happened when he was 12
years old. In this case we can say the Maiela is a competent witness but her
credibility should be questioned first, because of the fact that she did not see the
face of the culprit and secondly, her testimony does not conform the evidence
shown in court, in her testimony she said that she was sure that Tom Robinson
was the culprit, and that the culprit is Left handed and lastly, her testimony was
not subjected to a thorough questioning because of her behavior.
Tom Robinson should be aquitted because there was no evidence or there was
no medical evidence showing that the crime imputed to Tom Robinson even
occured. It can also be shown that there is a possibility that it was Maeila's father
who beat her up beacsue he saw that Maeila tried to kiss Tom Robinson a black
man ,according to Tom's testimony, and because when Mr. Eule is drunk he
beats his children and notwithstanding the fact that Mr. Eule is Left handed.

This movie showed us that their are persons who will fabricate stories and will
make other people accountable for things they did not commit just to hide who
they trully are or so that others will be held responsible for the acts that they have
committed, and it must be the duty of lawyers to reveal the truth.
