SOUTHERN CABLE offers an Aluminum rods as one product in usage for wires and cables industry. The
Aluminum rods are consumed internally as well as being supplied locally and internationally.

The Production Process

In SOUTHERN CABLE, Aluminum Rod is manufactured from "hot rolling" process. Square ingot is
heated, melted and casted, progressively reduced in cross-section by passing it through a series of
rolls, and then coiled. The coils are heated for softening and, the rod is pulled through smaller and
smaller dies on a wire-drawing machine to achieve specified rod diameter. The rod then is drawn to
specified overall diameter before stranding several wires into a single length for electrical conductor.
