For feeder, provide 30 m maintenance loop to place

at the riser pole or 1st manhole. For Sub-feeder,
30m maintenance loop will be place before the splice
enclosure. No maintenance loops on succeeding
LCP's and NAP's. Maintenance loops should be
placed on PLDT pole only, never on Meralco poles.
Used proper loop holder to properly secure the
maintenance loop.

Use proper enclosure. For aerial & UG FOC, use

dome or butt type. For all FTTH construction,
install splice enclosure before 1st LCP. It should be
located at main road or outside (before entry) the
subdivision or village.

Regular FOC span - 50 meters pole-to-pole

Short FOC span - > 50 meters pole-to-pole
Long FOC span - < 50 meters pole-to-pole.
For Long span, if sagging is probable, maximum
sag - 2 feet. Catenary construction is advisable
(should be lashed) or may required additional pole.
For Provinces, the typical height of sag from Ground
Level to the midspan is 15’ (for along the road),
while for road crossing is at 18’ . Implement S
method for road crossing

Poles to be used is dependent to the availability and

soil condition. It should have pole tag(aluminum) or
incripted with PLDT and date/number. Depth of
excavation: 1.2 meter NGL if soil is rocky and and 1.5
to 1.8 meters NGL if ordinary. Clear excavation site
of surplus soil/materials and restore affected
pavement to original condition.

Pole clamp height:

22/20 feet height across the road >
22 ft height upto 18m height along the road

Use proper guy grip base on FOC cable used. It

should be preformed and with guy grip spacer. Used
yellow cable tie to add support to the FOC cable on
the guy grip. Once cable tie is secured, remove or cut
any excess. For Figure 8 24F/48F/72F (with 1.2mm
wire strand messenger) – use 1/7” Guy Grip
For Figure 8 144F/216F (with 1.6mm wire strand
messenger) – use 3/16” Guy Grip
Proper guying with correct pole clamp, guy wire
with complete accessories (insulator strain,
protector guy wire) will be used for every site
condition. Head guy - CA 2A Pole-to-pole - CA 2A
Side guy - GCA 1B Sidewalk guy - GCA 1B Pole-to-
pole Side guy - com CA 2A & GCA 1B

Use 6 feet anchor rod for side walk guy installation.

Clean excavation site of surplus soil and materials
and restore affected pavement to original condition.

Proper material will be used based on site condition

and location of pole

Pipe : GI ( 4" x 10') Strap : Stainless 3/4" wide GA

22 Metal U Gard : 4 3/16" x 8' Base : Concreted

Messenger wire No. 6 (5/16"). Should be properly

strapped to pole using metal strap stainless 3/4 "
wide 22GA, with PVC moulding (1"x1" x 8') and
surely bonded to FOC messenger wire and ground
rod using proper clamp. Complete grounding should
be provide every LCP and end of aerial NAP.. DO NOT
strip or take away cable sheath... Excess grounding
wire should be cut.

Grounding Rod: 1/2" x 8'. Should be properly

implaced in ground… Grounding should not be
greater than 25 ohms. Additional grouding rod is
required if grounding is still 25 ohms.
