Classroom Rules

1. RULES:
• Students should be on time to class and in their seat when the bell
rings.
• Students should come to class “Learning Ready”. This means they should
have all materials needed for class such as: books, paper, and a pen or
pencil.
• Students are expected to use class time as instructed by teacher.
(Example: If time is given to complete an assignment, you do not have
the option of doing it later.)
• All furniture, equipment, and INDIVIDUALS will be treated with
RESPECT. This means no talking while the teacher or another student is
talking.
• Any activity, which disrupts the classroom learning process, will not be
tolerated.
2. HOMEWORK:
• All homework must be turned in. It is a MAJOR part of your grade.
• All paper must have the following information in the upper right hand
corner: 1) NAME 2) CLASS AND PERIOD 3) DATE 4) ASSIGNMENT

• Homework assignments will be graded the following ways: 1)
COLLECTED AND GRADED 2) VISUAL CHECK 3) BOARD
ASSIGNMENTS

3. ABSENCES:
• All assignments will be posted in the classroom. It is the
student’s responsibility to get any missed assignments and make sure
they are turned in on time.
• Students will have one day for each day they missed to make up work.
(Example: Student missed Monday and Tuesday, returned to school on
Wednesday – All homework is due AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS ON
FRIDAY)
• Make-up tests, quests, quizzes, and labs, students are responsible for
making arrangements with the teacher. All make-ups must be made up
within one week from your return.
• SCHOOL TRIPS: If you are going to be gone on a school trip, it is your
responsibility to get the assignment before you leave on the trip, and it
will be due the next class period. Exceptions may be made for trips of
an extended length.
• OSS – No credit

4. GRADES:
• The grades will be based upon the following scale.

A 100% - 92.0%
A- 91.9% - 90.0%
B+ 89.9%- 88.0%
B 87.9% - 82.0%
B- 81.9% - 80.0%
C+ 79.9% - 78.0%
C 77.9% - 72.0%
C- 71.9% - 70.0%
D+ 69.9% - 68.0%
D 67.9% - 62.0%
D- 61.9% - 60.0%

• Homework, tests, quests, quizzes, and labs if be the format to obtain
the grade that you earn.
• Assignment sheets will be collected at the end of each grading periods.

5. Mr. Sparks Individual Rules


• BE ENTHUSIASTIC!
• Please do not be afraid to ask questions.
• Cheat and plagiarism will result in failure of the assignment.
• Profanity and use of vulgar talk or subject matter are not acceptable in
this classroom.
• Safety guidelines must be adhered to an extreme level of compliance.
• Make sure that you understand all school policies.

6. Progressive Disciplinary Steps:


Step #1 – Verbal reprimand to correct behavior; student
reminded of next consequence.
Step #2 – Disciplinary consequence assigned by teacher
(i.e. Detention); student remind of next step.
Parents or Guardian contacted.
Step #3 – More severe consequence will involve the
Assistant Principal.

quizzes, examinations, preparation of reports or projects, or in any other work that I use to evaluate you
without specific permission for collaboration or without proper citation.
