Issues/ Problem areas

The company has never been criticized for any king of unethical practices except below

10
A common critism against Dabur India has been that despite the company's attempt to
professionalise itself, the involvement of the Burmans in the company has been
considerable. Through these changes, the company is trying to send a signal to its
stakeholders that the role of the promoter family has been substantially reduced, at
least in the group flagship. Moreover, this also gives each family member responsibility
for a particular business. Monday, May 16, 2005

More ever it should be added here that The next generation of Burmans were
withdrawing from the Rs 1,500-crore Dabur India and were set to focus exclusively on
individual group companies. This is being done with the objective of making GeNext
Burmans responsible for specific businesses and at the same time, ensuring that the
flagship company was managed by non-family professionals.

Forces Responsible for changes

Dr. S K Burman, founder, Dabur India Ltd.,quoted that “What is that life worth which
cannot bring comfort to others”For growth to be responsible, it should go beyond
numbers... It should do good to the society, create a better world. That's the kind of
growth that Dabur India Ltd. believes in, and constantly strives for.

In this case there were not any kind of activism. Means the company & its owner
himself motivated for corporate social responsibility. There were not any external or
internal factor to force the company to do corporate social responsibility.

CSR Initiatives.
