Are there any differences between the health spending of the two countries?

Yes, The humanitarian aid agencies working in Cambodia are helping the
government develop plans to absorb increased aid after a political settlement. Salaries
for government employees are very low, $3-$5 per month. Health care workers, as
employees of the state, must take on additional work to survive.Medications are
expensive. Some Cambodians living in the United States send medicines to their
relatives in Cambodia, which in turn are sold on the black market. Unfortunately,
there is little regulation for medications, and they are often taken in the wrong way
(i.e., by injection instead of ingestion) or in the wrong doses. While in the Philippines’
health care, though there are some common with Cambodia’s facility, it is still stated
that Philippines has better facilities than Cambodia. Philhealth is a great help for the
Filipinos since it will lessen their burden for their hospitalizations. And vaccines and
immunizations are given for free. There are public hospitals that offers good services
and government nurses have a higher salary than in private nurses.

Do the differences in spending affect the health parameters?

Yes, since spending more money for the health care facility will absolutely give a
better service for the individuals and through good service, the illness and diseases
will be alleviated and will help the patients to recover faster.

Project description

1. more fund for health care facilities

2. More nurses to be employed

3. Disseminate more nurses in the communities and rural areas

Rationale behind the program

1. To accommodate more patients and give them a better facility to help them
regenerate their health since environment contributes a big impact on patient’s health.
In order to have more supplies in health care needs such as medicines, Intravenous
fluids, syringes, and many more.

2. More nurses means having a good quality of service for the patients. Also, more
nurses will be focused to their assigned patients and if they are focused, there will be
less mortality inside the health care facility. For example, 1 nurse is equivalent to 100
patients, so there are more tendency that the nurse can’t accommodate the patients’s
needs.

3. Communities and rural areas are deprived from the health care facilities. One of the
reasons is that they don’t prioritize health since for them it will just cost money, effort
and time. We should bring the health care services to them in order for them to be
more healthy and be vaccinated against the diseases that can be acquired in the
environment.
