My Study Abroad in London

Project Summary
I went on a Study Abroad to London through SUU.
My goal was to learn from the culture there and to
prove to myself that I can thrive in any situation; I
hope to apply what I learned into every aspect of my
life. During our time there, I not only participated in
planned events, but also created my own adventure in
the evenings, exploring London and its sites.

Project Highlights
If I had to choose two takeaways from this trip they
would be an increase of appreciation for culture and
the arts, and my ability to adapt to a new (Fig. 1) My statue lecture on John Cartwright: a British

London; I was impressed by the high regard in
which it was held. We went to both the National
Gallery (Fig. 2) and the British Museum while in
London. I was able to broaden my perspective
and knowledge as well as see my favorite statue
of all time.

From My Journal
“The Amazing Race: day one we took the
Underground, aka “the tube” for the first time; I was
overwhelmed and worried I would get lost. We were
put into small groups and raced to get to 5 different
stops and back. That instilled confidence in me and
from then on I loved using the Tube. If I can navigate
the Tube as well as I did in a matter of days, I can
find my way around anywhere in the world.

London has a great respect for the arts, as well as the
opinion of the people. Next to this artwork was a tally
displaying 3 well-known and infamous leaders of the
world, with a space for people to vote who they’d rather
see behind bars.
