Andrew Cuomo Endorses Francisco Moya For Assembly Seat

Andrew Cuomo today gave Francisco Moya his full support, citing Francisco’s history of
working to improve his community and his commitment to working families.

“I am proud to support one of Queens’ finest young men and give him my full endorsement in his campaign for the
Assembly,” said Cuomo. “Francisco Moya has been working hard for his community for two decades. He
has led the fight to improve access to quality and affordable health care and clean up the streets of Corona by
taking on gangs and starting an after-school program for the most vulnerable children. I am inspired by all that he
has done in his community - he has never given up and never lost hope. The people of New York deserve
that kind of perseverance and commitment so that we can finally clean up Albany and make it work for all
New Yorkers.”

“I am deeply honored to have the strong support of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. Many of us are running to fix
Albany and create a state government we can be proud of, so to have the support of Attorney General Cuomo, who
has already done so much to fight corruption and dysfunction, is a particular honor,” stated Moya. “When I began
this campaign a few months ago, I began by speaking with the people of these neighborhoods—Corona, Elmhurst,
and Jackson Heights. I immediately knew how important it was to give people a strong voice in Albany, one
that would make them proud. Standing here with the next governor of New York, I know that our
neighborhoods will have a strong voice. We will work together on the issues that matter to us. And we will
be heard.”

The endorsement from Cuomo came as the Moya campaign entered the final two weeks, continuing to
build momentum and wide-spread community support. It was the latest in a long line of local and state leaders
who have rallied to support Moya, signaling the importance of the race in the effort to clean up Albany and improve
our state government.

Francisco Moya is running for Assembly in the 39th Assembly District. As an Assemblyman, Francisco will
fight for better schools and expanded access to healthcare. He will stand up against overdevelopment that
is taking its toll on our neighborhoods. And he will work to clean up Albany, by supporting stronger ethics
laws.

A lifelong resident of Corona, Francisco has been working to improve his community his whole life. In his teens,
he founded the Corona Gardens Civic Association. He went on to form an after-school program at St. Leo’s School
to keep kids off the streets and give them better opportunities. Working later at Elmhurst hospital, Francisco opened
community health clinics across Queens and fought to get the hospital a life-saving mammogram machine.

Francisco Moya’s Assembly campaign has already won the unified support of leaders in Queens, including
Congressman and Queens Democratic Leader Joseph Crowley, State Sen. Peralta, Assemblymember Michael
DenDekker, City Councilmembers Ferreras and Daniel Dromm. He has also won the support of the entire field of
Democrats running for Attorney General. And Francisco was endorsed by city-wide leaders including New York
City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, former New York City Comptroller Bill Thompson and Manhattan Borough
President Scott Stringer.

Francisco Moya’s campaign also has the backing of the Queens County Democratic Party, the Hotel Trades
Council (HTC), the Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union (RWDSU), the United Food and Commercial
Workers (UFCW), SEIU Local 32BJ and the United Federation of Teachers.
