Screens / exclusion zones shall be erected where possible
to ensure other persons working in the area are not
affected.

Cuts, burns and abrasions
2 1 2 Operatives shall use gloves or gauntlets to protect the 1 1 1
hands in case of a kickback during use.
All personnel shall maintain two-handed control of the
grinder at all times.
Grinders without guards shall not be used and returned to
the stores and either fitted with a guard or removed from
site.

Vibration White Finger 2 2 4 Gloves shall be worn at all times when using pneumatic 2 1 2
equipment.
Electric equipment to be used in preference to pneumatic
equipment.
Any new equipment ordered, shall be fitted with anti-
vibration dampers.

Slips, Trips and Falls 2 2 4 High levels of housekeeping shall be maintained at all 1 1 1
times.
