Problem Statement: Nearly 56.7 million people in America are
challenged by the environments in which they live and work. While great strides have been made to design for accessibility, many of our everyday tasks and surroundings still remain a challenge for people of varying abilities.
Design Statement: Identify a place, process, or object that you
use often; identify a problem that makes it less accessible for people with disabilities; and design a solution for this problem.
Design Constraints: 1. Used by people with physical or mental
disabilities. 2. Must abide by US federal laws. 3. Must be completed by February 12, 2018. 4. It must be a solution to a problem that is present in the current world.
Design Criteria: 1. Must help people with disabilities and
cannot negatively affect people without disabilities. 2. Must be affordable. 3. Solution cannot cause another problem. 4. It must fix a problem.
