Esteemed Readers:
At the outset the Editorial Board of ASTROVISION E-Journal takes this

opportunity to wish all its esteemed readers a happy, eventful and
prosperous new year 2012.
The Journal as successfully completed four years of continuous

journey in its humble capacity.
Our beloved Astro friend Mr. OVN Murthy has commenced a series
articles on Cuspal star lords, as he had been doing for years in your
journal this time, beginning Jan 2012 issue. Mr. Murthy wishes to write
a series of 12 articles on this subject.
We are sure that the readers will make maximum opportunity from
these articles.
We would like to continue our journey in this way as long we as could,

and expect that the generations next should take it forward and
expand its wings.
In the recent times, we had demise of a beloved astro friend in the

name of Mr. T. Seshagiri Rao, who was quite a selfless person and was
also conducting Tutelege at the auspices of KPAF at Hyderabad, a
forum functions under the Chairmanship of Mr. Rajendra Nimje, IAS.
We condole the demise.

Although birth gives us happiness and death makes us sad, our

preceptors teach us that neither birth nor death is a beginning or end
of anything. It is a cycle, and if birth is a beginning, death is the ending
point to begin one.
Stalwarts do take birth from mother’s womb in every era. They are born
to lead us, teach and impart knowledge to us. They shall continue to
take birth on this planet.

In Haryana, strike hit India’s biggest auto brand, while Team Anna campaign defeated Cong in
Hisar.
As Punjab looks forward to Assembly elections in about four weeks from now, the year that
went by not only marked the last leg of the incumbent regime but also brought out some
formidable political connotations altering the political canvass in this border State.
In neighboring Haryana, the ‘labour pains’ at country’s largest automobile manufacturer in

Gurgaon hogged the limelight.
For once, leading political parties in Punjab - the incumbent SAD–BJP combine and the
Congress - are left to worry beyond their staple political adversaries. The change on the political
landscape of this border State this year, with the emergence of a formidable third front
alternative, provided a glimpse into what could alter political arithmetic in Punjab headed for
polls in January end.
For the first time, various political parties - the CPI, CPM, former Tamil Nadu Governor S
SBarnala-led SAD (L) and the homegrown PPP led by ManpreetBadal, the estranged nephew of
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, came on one political platform. The Congress and SAD-BJP
may declare the front to be redundant, but it remains to be tested. Political observers say the
collective voter percentage of the “third front,” if not so much the unlikely number of seats it
wins, could upset prospects of candidates in several seats. Judgment day on January 30 will lock
the fate of many, until then, the war is on.
My curiosity is limited to incumbent SAD–BJP only, my question is also

specific for SAD–BJP alliance.
Actually till date I have predicted 39 advance predictions and come

correct in 30 prediction, means success ratio is 76.92%.
Question: Is there any chance for the incumbent SAD–BJP alliance to

come in power again in January 30 2012 election?

opinion SAD–BJP alliance will lose this election.

ROLE OF CUSPAL STAR LORD

- ASCENDANT ARIES

At the outset I wish everybody a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2012. During the
KP Astrologers Forum’s International Summit held in November 2012 the Forum
decided to bring Research Articles in KP System on new areas which needs further
Research basing practical natal charts. In that direction the KPAF Members M/s. OVN
Murthy, Raghavendra Kumar & Dr. Vijay Sagar have taken up the vital area Role of
Cuspal Star Lord like Cuspal Interception, Bhadhaka which were previously
published in ASTROVISION from Jan. to Dec. 2009 & 2010.
CUSPAL STAR LORD
Since inception Astrology is based on Zodiac of 12 signs known as the Kalachakra /

Kalapurusha and its Sign Lords are the significators for the various Bhavas. In equal
house system every sign would get one lordship and the Sign lord is the Lord of that
particular Bhava.
However in KP the house division will be based on Placidus House division (Western
method) wherein the cusps / bhavas are not evenly distributed. In such a situation
the Cuspal position in Rasi would gets changed from one degree to another in a Sign
unequally that is to say some cusps would get less than 30deg some more than
30deg would modify the occupation of various planets either in the same sign but in
different Bhavas. This would modify the predictions in KP System compared to Vedic
Astrology which follows equal house division.
In unequal system cuspal interception may steps in to change the Cuspal Lords from
the normal distribution. This would give entirely a different footing for prediction for
that particular chart. Vedic system gives complete importance to the Sign Lord of
that particular Bhava and Kararaka Lord for fructification of an event. In KP this has
modified to unequal cusps and the star lord of a planet would determine the results
of that planet (Star Lord’s occupation and lordship). However it takes the Cuspal
Sublord is the deciding factor of the strength of a particular cusp e.g., VII cusp for

marriage and its Cuspal Sublord should be connected to favourable cusps
signification through its star lord.
In this entire gamut we are giving importance to Sign Lord and its Cuspal Sub lord
as per KP but we are not looking into the relevance of Cuspal Star lord which is the
stage two Co Ruler.
In Medical Astrology also we are considering the Co-rulers of Sign Lord, Star Lord,
Sub Lord, whereas in Multi Stellar Theory of Prof. Kesav Ranjan Kar the Sub-Sub
lord also for judging the matter. Sri Sairaman from Chennai has given an idea to
look into this concept in judging the Charts. This concept was not much tested by
many Astrologers. This was in budding stage since 2008 but now it was taken up.
Now I request all the readers of this e-zine should come with their ideas on this
concept to develop it into a more validating concept.
In this issue as a first article on Cuspal Star Lord for Mesha Lagna is taken up.
Mesha contains three stars in its Sign i.e. Aswini, Bharani & Krittika 1 pada. The
characteristics of these three stars were dealt elaborately basing on various Texts of
Great Scholars such as Brihat Jataka, Brihat Parasara, Jathaka Deepika,
Phaladeepika, Jathaka Bharanam, Jathaka Parijatham, Saravali. Many of the
features belong to Rasi Mesha, Gana etc. Some are repeated because of different
Authors who describe the characteristics of each star in their slokas. However we
can find majority are common from these ancient texts.
I Aswini belongs to Yoni is Asva, Gana Deva, Nadi Adya and Kshatriya Varna.
Aswini born native will be highly interested in jewellery and cosmetics. They lead a
very systematic life. (Brihat Jatakam)
The native will be an easy person and very fond of visiting places especially the
kinds of place where others will fear to tread. They will be popular among women
and will also be respected by them. Inside the heart, will always have a desire to
serve and co-operate with others and for this purpose the native will be prepared to

Second Triplet Cusps are the 2,6,10 which are Earthy Signs (Venus, Mercury,

prime minister's official residence in Islamabad, fears that he will be murdered if he leaves the place, The
Daily Telegraph reported on Wednesday.
He said he has been branded a "traitor" and a "Washington lackey" by "powerful quarters" -- a reference
to the country's powerful ISI intelligence agency -- and that he now fears he will be murdered like his
friend, Punjab governor Salman Taseer.
Taseer was shot dead by one of his own security guards last year after being branded a "blasphemer".
Haqqani was forced to resign last year after Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz claimed he had
asked him to pass on a memo to the American government seeking its help to oust Islamabad's military
leadership.
He was recalled from Washington and now faces a Supreme Court enquiry commission amid accusations
that he betrayed his country by colluding with the US to compromise its territorial integrity.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Telegraph Tuesday, he said the allegations against him are false
and part of a "psychological war" against the government of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister
Yousuf Raza Gilani by "certain powerful quarters".
Haqqani said both the president and prime minister were standing behind him and were determined to
stay and challenge the allegations.
He was speaking after Pakistan's top human rights lawyer Asma
Jahangir revealed he had taken refuge in the prime minister's
residence for fear that the ISI would force him to make a false
statement on the affair.
He told the paper that he had only left the prime minister's
residence on three occasions, each time under heavy security
escort.
"I'm a guest of the prime minister with whom I have had a long-
standing political association. There are clear security concerns
given the hysteria generated against me. Staying at the prime minister's house is the safest option.
"My good friend Salman Taseer was killed by a security guard because he heard in the media that the
governor had blasphemed.

Interpretations
1- The 7th cusp sub lord Venus is in the constellation of Mercury,

introduced by Mr. V.K. Choudhary, called as SYSTEM`S APPROACH. This
system is the modification of Nirayana with some changes made as Mr.
Choudhary experienced.
In this predictive technique, three keys areas for the analysis of the
horoscopes are given.
01) The functional nature of the planets.
02) Relationship between planets and planets with houses.

03) Triple transit effect.
Functional nature of the planets
Rahu Ketu and the planets, whose mooltrikona signs are in malefic
houses i.e., in 06-08-12 with reference to the ascendant shall act as
malefic planets in a nativity. Here it is treated that sign Cancer as
mooltrikona for Moon. In exceptional cases, Rahu gives good results in
its sub period for materialistic prosperity. Other planets have to be
considered as benefic.
According to this, in an Aries rising horoscope, Mercury, Rahu and Ketu
are malefic planets. But in Taurus rising horoscope, Venus will act as
malefic planet.
In our classical texts, we consider Venus as benefic planet, since it

is the lagna lord.
Readers may experience this and see the charm of this technique.
If we analyze the charts based on functional nature of the planets, our

confusion will disappear very soon.
2) PLANETARY COMBINATINS
Impact of planetary combination will depend on functional nature of the

planets involved.
Weak planets get afflicted by close aspect 5 degree orb. Strong planets
get afflicted under exact influence of any other functional malefic. So
strength of planet is important.
The measurement of strength of planets is given below:
First treat that every planet is having 100% strength.

01) If planet is weak and afflicted by malefic, reduce 75% strength.
02) If a planet’s own mooltrikona house gets afflicted reduce 75%

strength.
03) If a planet is weak and sitting in afflicted house, reduce 75%

strength.
04) If a strong planet gets afflicted reduce 50% strength.
05) If sun is becoming functional malefic and a planet with him becomes
combust, loose 75% strength.
06) If sun is functional benefic say for e.g. in Gemini rising, the
combust planet looses strength by 50%.
07) If strong planet sits in afflicted non mooltrikona sign house it

looses 50% strength.
08) If a planet is combust and debilitated and sitting in 06 th, 08th or
12th only 10% strength will remain.
09) If planet sits in 6-8 or 12 houses, looses power by 50%, and brings
unhappiness denoted by those houses, e.g., if 6th house then will bring
dispute, or disease.
10) If a planet is debilitated in natal and in navamsa also loose

strength by 75%.
11) If a planet sitting in malefic house and is debilitated also loose

60% strength.
12) if planet is debilitated only in navamsa ,then loose 25% strength.
If any planet is under the influence of other functional malefic, weak

planets gets afflicted and are harmed more.
For example if Virgo is rising in a horoscope, malefic planets will be
Mars, Sun, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu.
No let us say, if Sun is weak and gets afflicted by another malefic

planet, say Mars. In that case Sun’s significations will suffer
further.
Close affliction gives trouble & difficulties. We can come to the

conclusion that weak planet will bring trouble, unhappy incidents in
life more, and if very weak, tragedy, as it can get afflicted soon.
So, in planetary combination, If both functional benefic planets are
involved good for the significations of both planets, which will
fructify in their sub periods. Technique gives importance to sub
period, for the results .If both planets involved are malefic planets
bad for both.
If one is benefic and other is malefic, it is bad for the results of
benefic planet.
3. Triple Transit effect
System Approach here comes to help us, how to see transit effect on a
particular days.

For any happenings in life three types of transit is a must on the day.
1) Transit to transit.
If we see today, we can say that the transit Saturn and Jupiter has
impact on each other as they are aspecting each other from Libra to
Aries.
2) Transit to natal, i.e. any transit planet coming on natal planet or
house
3) Natal to transit.
To understand this, a native has Mars in 4th house in his horoscope,
and if any planet in transit comes in 7th, 10th or 11th house it will
have effect of natal Mars on it.
If planets involved are benefic in nature, happy incident will take

place. In the event of involvement of functional malefic planet,
unhappy incidents will be experienced.
