Profile Summary

As an experience, proactive and results driven health systems manager, I have worked for the
last 10 years at various capacities in reputable organizations delivering results and projects
successes. I practised as Registered Clinical Officer (RCO) and climbed professional ranks to
work as RCO – Administration, Hospital quality Manager, Hospital Manager and Healthcare
Administrator. I have worked in for profit and not-for-profit organizations locally and
regionally with staffing levels ranging to 50 - 300 populations. My management skills span
across clinical, human resource management, financial & budgets management, project
management, marketing, resource mobilization/proposal writing, quality assurance and
control, strategy development and business/projects analysis.

Volunteer leadership

2016 – 2017: As a County Chapter Representative for Health Systems Management


Association (HeSMA) – A professional body for health managers, i volunteered to
help Kajiado County Health Management Team strengthen the leadership and
management pillar and form a County Technical Working Group that improved
Public health sector in their County.

Work experience

May 2015 – Dec 2017: Healthcare Programme Administrator - Lewa healthcare


Programme (Satellite clinics, mobile clinics, school health & community ambulance projects)
Reporting to head of community programs, i am involved in overall management
coordination and oversight of all activities of the healthcare programme
implementation as per set policies; Coordinating and enforcing healthcare
programmes, operational and personnel policies and procedures; Supervising,
providing leadership, guidance and reviewing performance of projects staff;
Reviewing existing healthcare standard operating procedures from time to time to
align with emerging changes in healthcare management; Overseeing logistical
management of drugs and non-pharmaceutical products; Addressing healthcare

programme donors and being responsible for preparation of all healthcare related
reports and proposals; Ensuring the healthcare programme complies with all
statutory requirements.

Nov 2014 - April 2015: General Manager - Bristol Park Hospitals; (A for-profit
hospital group with two branches in Nairobi, Kenya)
Reporting to the Managing Director, i encouraged a positive and team-focused
working environment; created and maintained a cohesive, motivated and highly
performing team; Reviewed and shared periodical reports and other institutional
deliverables; Managed effective communication and branches relationship; Assessed
and identified training needs and development of a staff; Liaised and provided a link
between employees and Hospital board; Ensured effective management of Hospital
inventories, financial and other resources; Strengthened linkage between hospital
and the community; Liaised with all functional departments to develop a 5 years
strategic plans and implementation guidelines; Regularly updated Management
team, BoD and staff on the state of the hospital.

Jan 2013 - Dec 2013: Officer Medicale & Quality manager - Skyborne Hospital;
(A 60 beds for-profit Hospital - Sud Kivu - DRC)
Reporting to the managing director i oversaw implementation of QA & QC systems
in the Hospital while participating in strategic business planning to advice on matters
of quality. As clinician i performed additional roles clinical work of patient diagnosis
and treatment at the internal medicine clinics and wards. Through these
responsibilities the Hospital achieved: Quality committees were set up that
guaranteed quality of care; Quality SOPs improved patients’ outcome with reduced
mortality rate; Hospital significantly improved market share in Sud Bukavu province;
Healthier stakeholder relationships that lead to cross boarder strategic Partnerships
with Kenyan Hospitals.

2011- 2012: Clinical Officer - Administration – AIDVC & Hospital; (A 50 beds not-
for profit Hospital – Kajiado, Kenya)
Reporting to Chief Physician Administration i compiled, analysed and submitted
Hospital and Program reports to our donor (USA) and Nairobi head office;
Supervised Clinical Officers to ensure high quality care in outpatient clinics and
admitting wards; lead Hospital SOPs development and implementation initiatives; As
RCO delivered high quality patients’ diagnosis and patient treatment. Through these
responsibilities the project achieved: Project data-driven decision made the project a
success it was; Effective reporting strengthens partners and donor relationship.
