Provides expertise and assumes responsibility for areas related to Inspection
Activities in Ruwais Refinery. Reviews the performance of the equipment and
piping and makes recommendations for upgradation as required. Reviews the
operating conditions to assess and monitor corrosive conditions and evaluates the
material performance in process streams.
Reviews the metallurgy for the modifications and major projects. Updates
procedures and specifications related to Inspection Management and Inspection
activities and recommends repairs/operating parameters to extend the life of
equipment and piping.
Carries out failure analysis and failure investigations in order to enhance safety and
integrity of the plant. Updates/prepares the records and Inspection files for the plant
and equipment.

-Multidiscipline ASNT NDT level III in RT, PT, MT, UT.
-API 510,API 570, API 653, API 580.
-Minimum 12 years related to NDT and inspecting pressure vessels, heat exchangers, Boilers,
Furnaces, Storage tanks and Piping & RBI 'if required'.
-Familiar with following applicable codes and standards in NDT & Inspection. These codes are
included but not limited. ASME, AWS, API, ANSI, ASTM.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Static Equipment Superintendent based in Yanbu and
will report directly to Manager Inspection & Reliability.
About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible to:
• Lead and manage the Mechanical Integrity team in compliance with Safety, Quality, Health
and Environmental procedures, company-wide standards, industry best practice, in compliance
with KSA Legislative requirements.
• Implement mechanical integrity standards on static equipment including piping, valves,
structure, tanks and vessels utilizing inspection techniques including CUI, PMI, Visual, Long
Range UT Scanning, Manual UT and other best practice tools to assess current state of the
equipment.
• Develop and Implement a static equipment condition monitoring program aimed at assessing
existing condition, calculate remaining life based on operation factors, coordinate with planning,
operations and reliability to conduct proper PM, replacement and address any non-conformance
on time prior to failure.
• Drive Continuous improvement in mechanical integrity and quality assurance such as plant
reliability, quality, PSM incidents in which costs are positively affected.
• Plan, directs and leads integrity engineering program, activities and staff to ensure projects and
initiatives deliver improved productivity, process safety performance and improve the overall life
cycle cost.
• Document management system for the site related to mechanical integrity program, drive
implementation of these systems, train appropriate personnel.
• Establish MI/QA auditing process, and implement appropriate PSPIs.
• To collaboratively work with Global Engineering and Reliability Team and Consultants to
ensure changes are consistent with best practice and learning are shared with other sites.
• Conduct root cause analysis on failure of equipment and provide guidance on mitigation plans
and preventative measures.
About You
You will ideally be required to have the following minimum requirements:
• BS in Mechanical or Metallurgy or equivalent
• 10 years of experience within manufacturing environment, heavy chemical ideally with toxic
and corrosive substances, or petrochemical plants of which 5 years must be in management or
comparable/similar position.
• An extensive understanding of mechanical integrity and its standards with emphasis on Static
Equipment and Process Safety Critical Equipment to improve equipment reliability and process
performance.
• Having an in depth knowledge and understanding of an Integrity process such as: RBI and
Inspection methodologies, Mechanical Integrity Management Strategy (MIMS), Piping Integrity
Management Strategy (PIMS).
• Knowledge of nationally recognized and accepted engineering codes and standards such as
ANSI B31 series, ASME V, VIII & IX, NDT and all other required API series (preferred codes
571, 580, 581, 510) for tanks, vessels, exchangers and piping. Certification is highly preferred.
• Experience in managing advanced inspection techniques, and repair practices on various fixed
and rotating equipment.
• An extensive level of analytical and decision making and critical thinking ability.
• Having and in depth knowledge of managing changes to operational and maintenance processes
incorporated into department/division objectives and goals.
• Excellent communication skills; rational and clearly communicate ideas to and with other
disciplines at all levels within the organization.
• Strong leadership and motivation skills, and influencing; highly encourage and manage the
activities in an environmentally sound manner.
• Implement Inspection and Corrosion Control Policy
• Monitor and oversee the execution of inspection programs and activities.
• Ensure systematic and consistent implementation of work methods and procedures used in
Maintenance and Inspection and recommend improvements.
