as a normal child, at the age of 18 months she suffered an illness that left her blind and deaf.
When Keller was 6, Anner Sulivan, a teacher doing pioneer work with deaf and blind
people, came to serve her as her teacher. One month after her arrival, Sulivan opened up a new
world for her young student who had been trapped in a dark, silent existence.
