LITURGY OF THE WORD

COMMENTATOR: Kindly be seated for the Liturgy of the Word.

FIRST READING (Bar.4:5-12.27-29)
A reading from the book of the prophet Baruch

Fear not, my people! Remember, Israel, You were sold to the nations not for your destruction; It
was because you angered God that you were handed over to your foes. For you provoked your Maker
with sacrifices to demons, to no-gods; You forsook the Eternal God who nourished you, and you grieved
Jerusalem who fostered you. She indeed saw coming upon you the anger of God; and she said: “Hear
you neighbors of Zion! God has brought great mourning upon me, For I have seen the captivity that the
Eternal Ga\od has brought upon my sons and daughters. With joy I fostered them; but with mourning
and lament I let them go. Let no one gloat over me, a widow, bereft of many: For the sins of my children
I am left desolate, because they turned from the law of God. Fear not, my children; call out to God! He
who brought this upon you will remember you. As your hearts have been disposed to stray from God,
turn now ten times the more to seek him; For he who has brought disaster upon you will, in saving you,
bring you back enduring joy.”

The Word of the Lord

All: Thanks be to God

Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 23 (to be sung)
Refrain:
The Lord listens to the poor.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (to be sung)

Alleluia, Alleluia (Marcelo)

PRESIDER: THE LORD BE WITH YOU

ALL: AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT

PRESIDER: A READING FROM THE HOLY GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

ALL: GLORY TO YOU, O LORD

GOSPEL READING:

Gospel (Jn 10, 17-24)

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke

The seventy-two disciples returned in jubilation, saying, “Master, even the demons are subject
to us in your name.” He said in reply: “I watched Satan fall from the sky like lightning. See what I have
done; I have given you power to tread on snakes and scorpions and all the forces of the enemy, and
nothing shall ever injure you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice so much in the fact that the devils are subject
to you as that your names are inscribed in heaven.”

At that moment Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said: “I offer you grateful praise, O Father,
Lord of heaven and earth, because what you have hidden from the learned and the clever you have
revealed to the merest children.

“Yes, Father, you have graciously willed it so. Everything has been given over to me by my
Father. No one knows the Son except the Father and no one knows the Father except the Son-and
anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”

Turning to his disciples he said to them privately: “Blest are the eyes that see what you see. I tell
you, many prophets and kings wished to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear
but did not hear it.”

PRESIDER: The Gospel of the lord

PEOPLE: PRAISE TO YOU O LORD, JESUS CHRIST.

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

Celebrant: On this day, where we honor Our Lady of the Rosary, let us turn towards the source of all
goodness; to our God, who is rich in mercy, and pray to him.
Our response is: Lord, hear our prayer.
For the Church of Christ, to whom you have confided the proclamation of the mysteries of
salvation, that, with the motherly aid of the Virgin Mary, she may remain faithful to her mission, let us
pray to the Lord.
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.
For the people of the whole world, who are seeking to clear a path towards peace that our Lady
may protect them from all evil, and lead them to discover the Prince of peace, let us pray to the Lord.
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.
For the unity of those who believe in Christ, that the Virgin Mary, with her motherly affection,
may be able to acknowledge them all as her children, let us pray to the Lord.
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.
For the missionaries all over the world, that through the intercession of St. Therese of the Child
Jesus, they may grow daily in the intimacy of our Lord for them to face the challenges they daily
encourage with faith, hope and love. Let us pray to the Lord.
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.
For all of the teachers especially our own RC teachers gathered here and for those we
remember in our prayer, that they may know always to find in Mary an attentive mother and a sure help
in our needs, let us pray to the Lord.

Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

For all of us, assembled here in faith, that this celebration of the Virgin Mary may arouse in each
one of us a truly filial love for her, let us pray to the Lord.

Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

we make to you, and help us to live the mysteries we celebrate. We make our prayer through
Christ, our Lord. R. Amen.

PROFESSION OF FAITH

The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God,

The Father almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
Of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,

The Only Begotten Son of God,
Born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
True God from true God,
Begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
He came down from heaven

At the words that follow up to and including and became man, all bow.

And by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

He suffered death and was buried,
And rose again on the third day
In accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
And is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
To judge the living and the dead
And his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

Who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
Who with the Father and Son is adored and glorified,
Who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
And I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life
Of the world to come.
Amen.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God
The Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

At the words that follow up to and including the Virgin Mary, all bow.

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died and was buried;
He descended into hell;
On the third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God the father almighty;
From there he will come to judge the living and dead

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The holy catholic Church
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting.
Amen.

PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS

Assembly: All stand

Presider: Pray brethren that our sacrifice my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the
Almighty Father.
People: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for
our good and the good of all his holy church.

Presider: Lord, may these gifts we offer in sacrifice transform our lives. By celebrating the
mysteries of your Son, may we become worthy of the eternal life he promises, for he is
Lord forever and ever.

People: Amen

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

Presider: The Lord Be with you

People: And with your Spirit

Presider: Lift up your hearts

People: We lift them up to the Lord

Presider: Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.

People: It is right and just.

Presider:

Father, all powerful and ever living God, we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Lifted high on the cross, Christ gave his life for us, so much did he love us. From his wounded side flowed
blood and water, the fountain of sacramental life in the Church. To his open heart the Savior invites all
men, to draw water in joy from the springs of salvation.

Now, with all the saints and angels, we praise you forever:

Holy TO BE SUNG

PRESIDER
Father, you are holy indeed, and all creation rightly gives you praise.
All life, all holiness comes from you through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord by the working of the Holy
Spirit. From age to age you gather your people to yourself, so that from east to west a perfect offering
may be made to the glory of your name.

And so Father, we bring you these gifts, We ask you to make them holy by the power of your Spirit, that
they become the (+) Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, at whose command we celebrate this
Eucharist.

On the night he was betrayed, he took bread and gave you thanks and praise.
He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples and said:
“Take this all of you and eat it: this is my body which will be given up for you.”

When supper was ended, he took the cup.

Again, He gave you thanks and praise, gave the cup to His disciples and said:
“Take this all of you and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting
covenant. It will be shed for you and for all, so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.”

Let us proclaim the mystery of faith

LORD BY YOUR CROSS TO BE SUNG
