ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2017 Good afternoon. Thank you for the time that has been given to me. Let me introduce myself. My name is Ni Kadek Dwi Wulandari as a student of diploma program 3 polytechnic of Health Denpasar. So, I’m majoring at Nursing Department from 2.2 class with student’s number 065. On this happy occasion, I will share my experience in hospital practice. Previously, I was from a health vocational high school and I also majored in nursing. So, already familiar if I had enough experience in hospital practice. However, this time I will share my experience at Bangli Regency Hospital. Initially, I was very nervous when going to practice there. This is the first time I started a nursing clinic within a few months. A few days before the start of the practiced, Me and my friend went to the Bangli hospital to see the situation there. However, we could not enter the hospital because the hospital had a set time so we could only see outside the hospital. The first impression that I felt was this hospital is not like a hospital in the city of Denpasar, despite being on the edge of the road but the atmosphere was very quiet and there was no emergency. People who moved around the hospital were also very calm and relaxed. The state of the hospital environment was very clean and neat. Next came the first day of orientation. At that time, I just felt the hospital sufficiently crodit in the morning, especially in the general polyclinic. Lots of patients were queuing up with various health problems. The people there were very friendly, when I smile and said hello they also came to greet and smile. Then, I met the head of the ward at the hospital. My first impression that I was very nervous because one of them would meet me, so I had to keep my attitude in order to give a good impression. Then, we were invited to go around while looking at the wards around the hospital was quite extensive. I arrived at Mawar ward, in this ward I will spend practice time for 3 weeks to learn about nursing. The head of the Mawar ward was very good and very guides us who practiced there in order to provide optimal nursing services. We were also required to keep ourselves safe by using complete personal protective equipment such as face mask, handscrub and handscon because this room treated the patients with neurology diseases. During my practice at Bangli hospital, I met many patients with various characters, age and uniqueness. One of them I met a woman who suffered from heart disease. This patient was unique because she was very funny and often invites me to joke when I'm talking to her. She was also very friendly but she did not feel comfortable in the hospital so she complained wanted to go home quickly with reasons wanted to feed her cattle. That was very funny. Then, I met a patient who had a mild stroke. At that time I was quite nervous entered his room, because the patient was not accompanied by his family and he could only see but not respond. When I wanted to communicate, he just looked into my eyes and it had frightened me with such a tense silent. However, after that I realized that I should not be afraid to take care of him and finally after 3 months more he was declared allowed to go home by the doctor. Not enough nursing actions that I could do independently, I still asked to help with counseling during nursing actions such as applied infusion, taken blood, fed through a tube and installed a catheter. However, such acts as checked blood pressure, injected, taken medicine I had done independently. There I was also gave guidance on how to make a good report and taught how to read the patient's medical records. So, the nurses of the room really guided me as a student to get knowledge after practiced there. The last day of practiced came, me and my friend thanked to the guidance of the seniors and did not forget to say good-bye to the patients there. We also gave memories that could be useful. Well, that's what I can explain about my experience in the hospital practice. I hope that the next practice will be better than ever. Thank you.
