RULES FOR PRELIMS:

• The teams should draw/sketch the graffiti they intend to do with he
• materials provided
• Use of phones, tablets or printouts to copy a design will lead to immediate

RULES FOR FINAL ROUND:


• Time limit: 3 hours
• Teams should paint the graffiti they submitted in the prelims round
• Teams should paint only with the materials provided by the organizers
• Use of own paints or brushes will lead to disqualification
• Only the sketch done in he prelims round can be used as reference material
• The team will be given time to explain their painting to the judges

Teams will have to dress one of the participants using old newspaper provided
by the organizer.

3. FACE PAINTING
One participant should paint on the other using colours and the brushes provided.

• Number of members per team: 2(1 painter + 1 to be painted on)

• The event will be for 2 hours.

1. CHOREONITE WESTERN
RULES:
• A preliminary round will be held to shortlist the teams. All teams need to
send in a recorded video for 3 minutes (minimum) to 5 minutes (maximum)
either by mail or by CD to the event coordinator one week prior to the
event. Only shortlisted teams will be allowed to participate in the finals.
• On Stage Time: 10 Mins, 8 for the performance and 2 mins is for miscella-
neous use (includes entry, exit, setting up etc.)
• Number of participants (size of the crews): 7-30
• Choreography must be street dance styles (commercial choreography, hip-
hop, locking, popping, waacking, dancehall, krump, house, etc.);
• Exceeding the time limit will lead to deduction of points.
• The competition music must not contain inappropriate, lewd or offensive
language;
• Any safe props allowed (no fire or pyrotechnics allowed under any circum-
stances); Backdrops, scenery are permitted provided they can be carried
on, set up and removed within 5 seconds of being called on to the stage or
at the completion of the performance;.
• Attire may include accessories such as hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelry,
etc. Removing pieces of clothing during the performance is permitted provid-
ed it is not offensive or out of character. Clothing that is too short, suggestive
or inappropriate for the age of the performer is not allowed.
• Length of the promo video should not exceed 30 seconds.

• Each team will be evaluated by the judges on the following criteria: skills,
street presentation, musicality, performance, creativity. It is particularly impor-
tant for the participants to stick with street dance styles.
• Slot picking will start around noon on Day 1 of Festember. Team Captains
with the entire crew are to be present as registration for the event will happen
alongside song submission, promo video submission.
• Immediately after picking the slots, the crews will go on to practice a stage
run (strictly 10 mins).
• Judges decision will be final.

2. CHOREONITE EASTERN
RULES:
• A preliminary round will be held to shortlist the teams. All teams need to
send in a recorded video for 3 minutes (minimum) to 5 minutes (maximum)
either by mail or by CD to the event coordinator one week prior to the
event. Only shortlisted teams will be allowed to participate in the finals.
• Music length: maximum 10 min (max) with an additional 2 mins to set up
on stage. This is inclusive of narration.
• Number of participants: 8-25. Apart from this 3 members are allowed
for backstage helping, music and lighting arrangements. These 3 members
should at no point during the dance be on stage.
• The competition music must not contain inappropriate, lewd or offensive
language.
• Any safe props are allowed (no fire, oil, water or any other object that
could damage the floor are allowed)
• Teams should take care of their props and belongings and the organizers
will not be held responsible for any loss.
• Slot picking will start around noon on Day 1 of Festember. Team Captains

RULES:
• Eliminations:
• All dancers will showcase during the elimination rounds for Judges to
determine the final 8. The type of showcase, group or one by one, will be
decided based on the time available and the total number of entrants;
• All dancers should showcase a performance on their own track for max
2mins
• Head to head or rounds:

• Dancers will dance to music played by the DJ the music will be appropriate
for the style of dance
• Dancers will battle either 1 v 1 or 2 v 2 depending on battle category
through the following rounds
• The rounds will take place in a best of 3 format. Judging will be done after
every round.
• Quarter Finals
• Semi Finals
• Finals
• Judges decision will be final.

4.EASTERN FREESTYLE SOLO


RULES
Round 1:
• All dancers will showcase their choreo for 3-4 mins during this round
• Music Length:Maximum 4 mins
• The use of Props are NOT permitted.
• Only registered participants are allowed to participate in the event.
• Each participant will be evaluated by the judges on the following criteria:
Naatiya, abinaya, musicality, performance, costumes.
Round 2 : Props Round
• In this round, props will be provided by us participants have to perform
using props for 1min.
• A 1min song will be played by us and participant have to use the props
throughout their performance.
• Each participants will be evaluated based on their creativity & spontaneity
and will be selected for round 3.
• The decision of the Judges are final and binding.
Round 3 : Finals
• Only participants shortlisted from round 2 can participate in this round.
• In this round, participants will be tested on abinayas and will be evaluated
by judges.
• A 1min song will be played by us and participants have to showcase the
specific abhinaya given to them.
• Performance time maximum: 1min.
• The decision of the Judges are final and binding.
Allowed dance forms: Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Odissi etc.

5. DUET FREESTYLE
RULES:
Round - 1: Eliminations:
• All dancers will showcase during the elimination rounds for Judges to de-

Welcome to THEATRIX!

FORMAT:
There is no restriction on the number of participants per college or number of
onstage people per college.
Only one team per college is allowed.
There are no restrictions with regard to scripts. Original scripts, pre-written scripts
and adaptations (eg: Othello - Omkara) are all welcome.

RULES:
The total time from Stage Entry to Stage Exit is 45 minutes.
The play should not have been staged at any other earlier edition of Festember.
No fire and water is allowed on stage. Breaking glass on stage is not allowed
too. Participants are held responsible for any damage to the stage.
No profanity, suggestive actions or obscenities will be permitted on stage.
The use of vernacular expressions should be limited and used only if absolutely
necessary.
The judges’ decision will be final and binding and is not open to review.

IMPROVATHON!

FORMAT:
• Three participants per team
• Multiple teams from a single college are allowed
• There will be 2 rounds wherein select number of teams will qualify to the
second round.
• Anyone can participate, not just theatre enthusiasts.
• Anyone with a flair for impromptu performances are welcome.

RULES:
Round 1:
• It is an eliminative round.
• Each member from the team will be given a quirky character, using which
they are required to prepare a sketch.
• Each team will get 10 minutes to prepare a sketch.
• Each team gets 5 minutes for their performance.
• During the performance, the participants are allowed to speak on stage.
Avoid any profanity and vulgar gestures.
• Judge’s decision will be final and binding and are not open to review.
Round 2:
• In the beginning, the team nominates 2 out of the 3 teammates to take
the stage
• Scenarios will be given and Preparation time of 5 minutes will be given.
• At a certain point, judges can freeze the performance where the 3rd
teammate joins them on stage with a character/plot suggested by the
judge.
• From there, the judges can freeze the participants, take suggestions from
the audience and switch the scenario or a particular detail, which the par-
ticipants have to adapt to subsequently when they unfreeze.
• Each team totally gets 5 minutes for their impromptu performance.
• Judge’s decision will be final and binding and are not open to review.

JAM
A speaking event where each participant aims to speak on the given topic for a min-
ute while the other participants object upon spotting an error.

• 6-8 participants qualify for the final
• The common rules of JAM would apply.
• All moderators’ decisions are final.

DEBATE
It is a debate competition where teams of participants voice their views on a series
of topics.
EVENT STRUCTURE
• Teams of 3 members each.
• The prelims topics will be given beforehand; teams can pick any one of the
topics provided.
• Format for prelims: Two proposition speakers for duration of 90 sec each and
one opposition speaker for duration of 120 sec.
• Format of the finals will be given at the venue.

EXTEMPORE
It is an event where participants need to be creative and spontaneous while speak-
ing about a variety of topics.
EVENT STRUCTURE
• Teams of 2 members each.
• The event would comprise of speaking events such as Block and Tackle, Spin a
yarn and others.

It is a scrabble competition.

• The CSW15 dictionary will be used
• Format: Written prelims followed by finals on Scrabble boards.
• Format of the finals will be informed at the venue

PUZZLE CHAMP
It is a mix of puzzles and brain-teasers.
EVENT STRUCTURE
• Teams of 3 members each.
• Format: Written prelims followed by finals.
• 6-8 teams qualify for the finals.

4. MIMING EVENTS
DUMB CHARADES
It is a classic dumb charades event.
EVENT STRUCTURE
• Teams of 3 members each.
• Prelims will involve one member miming varied items to his/her team within
a specified time limit.
• 6-8 teams qualify for finals
• Splitting words, sounds like/rhyming, phonetics, codes and cross-referencing
are prohibited.

Consists of a variety of English literary events; versatility is the key to victory.

• Prelims will have 2 parts: written and miming/drawing

FORMAT:
There will be a total of 3 rounds.
Round 1:
• Participants have to ramp walk on the stage for 30s to show their personali-
ty and stage presence.
Round 2:
• Around 75% of the participants will qualify for this round.
• Participants will have to model for a product for 30s. They can give as many
poses as they want within this duration.
• The product for which they would be modelling would be decided by picking
chits right before they go on stage.
• They would be judged based on their ability to pose with the product and
their presence of mind.
Round 3:
• 5 boys and 5 girls qualify for this round.
• This is a talent round and hence the participants have to showcase their tal-
ent on stage for 1 minute.
• This will be followed by an interactive questioning round where the partici-
pants will have to answer the questions asked by the judges.

RULES:
• Registration starts along with Fashionitas and ends one hour before start of
the event.
• Use of props like bags, scarves, etc is permitted; however use of fire, water
and any item that could damage the stage or hinder the performance of other
teams will lead to disqualification.
• Show of college ID is a must for all participants at the time of registration.
• Every participant will be given a number tag which must be visible on their
costume at all times.

• For the talent round: The participants should bring their own audio track to
be played. Other specific requirements for this round like musical instruments,
etc. should be brought by the participant.
• No form of vulgarity will be tolerated.

2. FASHIONISTAS
RULES AND FORMAT:
• Each team can have a maximum of 15 members consisting of 6-10 models
and a maximum of 5 members for backstage support - light and sound control,
narrator, choreographer, designer etc. if applicable.
• Each team is allotted 10 minutes from the time they enter till they exit the
stage.
• Inter college teams are permitted. However each member of the team must
be a student and have a valid college ID.
• Each team performance must be themed. However the choice of the theme
lies with the participating team.
• Use of accessories like bags, scarves, hats etc. is encouraged; however use
of fire, water and any item that could damage the stage or hinder the perfor-
mance of other teams will lead to disqualification.
• Show of college ID is a must for all team members at the time of registration.
• Every member of each team will be given a number tag which must be visi-
ble on their costume at all times.
• The teams are required to bring their own music on a pen-drive in .mp3/.
wav format. Provision of light and sound will be taken care of by the organiz-
ers. Please do ensure an audio backup of your track.
• No form of vulgarity will be tolerated.
• Contesting teams are responsible for lighting, narration, sound, clothing,
makeup etc.,
• The participating teams will be allowed for a 20 minute onstage practice
session on the 23rd Sept, 2017 (Day 2) from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.

Tagline: बल्ले की जीत ही आप की जीत

क्रिकेट का नाम सुनते ही सबके मुँह पर केवल सचिन का ही नाम आता है, पर क्या इन्ही
बल्लेबाजों में क्रिकेट की दुनिया सीमित है ?????
तो आइये आज हम आपको क्रिकेट के हर उस कोने में ले जाते हैं..जहाँ तक आज बहुत
कम लोग पहुँच पाए हैं।
* एक टीम में दो सदस्य होगें।
* इस कार्यक्रम के दो चरण हैं। प्रथम चरण लिखित होगा।
* अन्तिम चरण में सिर्फ छह टीमें प्रवेश करेंगी।

Cricket as a sport is followed by the people irrespective of the language they


speak; hence it is a great unifying force. This event is designed to judge the knowl-
edge of participants based on questions related to cricket.

रोचक प्रश्नों के रोचक उत्तर ही रोचक मंत्रणा का मूल मंत्र हैं । रोचक मंत्रणा हिन्दी
साहित्य के अतिलोकप्रिये कार्यक्रमों में से एक है ।
रोचक मंत्रणा दो चरणों में होता है। प्रथम लिखित चरण में भाग लेने वाले प्रतिभागियों
के सभी टीमों में से कुल छः टीम हीं दूसरे अर्थात अंतिम चरण तक पहुँचती है जहाँ उनसे
मंच पर मौखिक रोचक प्रश्न किये जाते हैं।

नियमः
* अश्लील शब्द एवं इशारे पूर्णतया वर्जित हैं।
* निर्णायकगण का निर्णय अंतिम एवं सर्वमान्य होगा ।
* किसी भी नियम के उल्लंघन के जिम्मेवार प्रतिभागी खुद होंगे। एवं ऐसा घटित होने
पर उन्हें कार्यक्रम से बाहर किया जा सक्ता है ।

Rochak Mantrana, is one of the most awaited events of Festember.


It occurs in two stages. The first is a written phase, from where six teams willeach the
final stage in which they will be questioned verbally.

इस प्रतियोगिता में प्रतिभागी को स्वंय मूर्ख बनने बचना होता है।
ब्लफ मास्टर दो चरणों में होता है। प्रथम लिखित चरण में भाग लेने वाले प्रतिभागियों
के सभी टीमों में से कुल छः टीम हीं दूसरे अर्थात अंतिम चरण तक पहुँचती है जहाँ उनसे
मंच पर मौखिक तथा पर्दे(screen) के सहारे प्रश्न किये जाते हैं।

RULES:
1. This is an INDIVIDUAL event and is open to everyone attending Festember.
2. Entries with offensive or inappropriate content or those which promote any spe-
cific brand will be disqualified.
3. The photographs submitted must be the genuine, original work of the partici-
pant.
4. The photographs have to be taken during the fest. No old photographs will be
accepted for the contest.
5. Any device can be used to capture the photo.
6. The copyrights of the pictures will stay with the photographer. However, Festem-
ber has the right to use the pictures for publicity or other activities.
7. Under any circumstance, entries once submitted cannot be taken back for modi-
fications.
8. Requests for extending the deadline will not be entertained at any cost.
9. The judges’ decision is final. No discussion or correspondence will be enter-
tained regarding the same.
10. The judges and the organizers reserve the right to cancel or vary the position
awarded in case of any discrepancies.
11. All submissions have to be made at the Pixelbug stall before 7:00 pm and win-
ners will be declared at 8:00 pm.
12. Please read the photograph specifications very carefully. Failing to adhere to
the format will lead to disqualification.
13. The submitted photos should not be posted in any social media platforms till
the competition is over.
14. Participants are not allowed to tag people on the photographs when it is up-
loaded on Facebook by the organizers.
15. The photographs can be edited by using any software except Photoshop i.e
the photo can’t be altered to include additional elements.
16. Participants are to submit details of the device used and the editing app used,
along with the photographs.

17. If edited, the original photographs must also be submitted with the edited
ones.
18. Candids and event photos are accepted. Any selfie or group photos wouldn’t
be accepted.

EVENT FORMAT:
The photography contest will happen on each of the three days of the fest. Par-
ticipants can submit a maximum of only 1 photograph on any day and the same
photograph cannot be submitted again. The photographs have to be submitted
at the Pixelbug stall before 7pm on each day and the winners will be declared at
8pm. The photos will then be displayed on the Festember page.

PHOTOGRAPH SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Images should be in JPEG Format only.
2. The minimum resolution of the pictures must be 3 Mega Pixels.
3. The total file size must be less than 30 MB
4. The EXIF data of the photograph must remain intact
5. Photographs must not have any borders, signatures, names, personal logos or
watermarks.
6. Post processing of the pictures is allowed, but changes like modifications to
background will lead to disqualification.
7. If processed, the original for the post-processed image should be submitted.
8. No restrictions on the type of camera or mobile phone that can be used.

of genre is left to the band.

1. Bands are required to perform in English. 2. A person may play for only one band.
3. The event is open to all, band members need not necessarily be college students.
