8 1/2” HOLE SECTION 2200m – 2950m Open Hole

Fluid Type SW NaCl Brine / Hi-Vis Sweeps.

Key Issue Lost circulation, high torque.

The hole section would be drilled using Seawater/NaCl Brine and hi-vis sweeps as required. 30-40
bbl hivis sweep should be pumped on every half stand drilled, or as dictated by the hole condition.
DV-Hivis would be used to build the hi-vis sweeps.

Hivis would be built by adding 3ppb DV-Hivis into seawater.

To minimize the potential to tubular corrosion, it is recommended to treat the brine with 0.25ppb
Biosafe (biocide).

The fluid density should be maintained near balance to the formation pressure. Recent operation
has shown that this practice had been successfully reduced the lost rates. Sand trap should be
dumped as frequent as required.

Partial to total lost circulation would be experienced. It is recommended not to cease losses with
any LCM pills.

High torque is expected while directional drilling the basement section. As per experience from
drilling previuos wells, drilling torque was reduced by adding to active system 1.0-1.5% vol
Radiagreen EME lubricant.
Slug treatment into annulus using 5-10% solution of Radiagreen EME have been applied
successfully to reduce torque while drilling with partial to total lost circulation on previous wells.

FORMULATION AND MIXING

 Fill mud pits with the required volume of seawater and treat with 0.25ppb BIOSAFE.
 NaCl to required density.
 If viscosified S/W will be used, add 1.0 - 2.0ppb DV-Hivis to obtain the specified rheology.

The completion fluid for the well will be filtered NaCl brine treated with 0.25ppb Biosafe. The
density of the Completion Fluid should be equal to what had been used for drilling. Hivis and Safe
Surf WN should be pumped for clean up before displacing to inhibited completion brine.

Displacement procedure:
- Pump 50 bbl hivis pills, NaCl brine with 3ppb DV-Hivis.
- Pump 100 bbl wash pill, NaCl brine with 4 drums Safe Surf WN.
- Pump 50 bbl hivis pills, NaCl brine with 3ppb DV-Hivis.
- Filtered NaCl brine

If packer fluid is required, treat the Completion Fluid with 1 drum of Conqor 303A / 100bbl
Completion Fluid and 0.15ppb Safe Scav Ca(sulfite free oxygen scavenger). Conqor 303A is
filming agent corosion inhibitor. Safe Scav Ca is recommended as SW would be used as the base
fluid for mixing brine.
