c. Review

In the past days, we have discussed the

noun and its two kinds. What are these
(The students will raise hands)
two kinds?

Teacher, we have the proper and

Yes Carlo?
common nouns.

That’s right, Carlo!

Proper nouns it is a specific name of
persons, places or things. We always
start writing it in capital letter. For
example Mongol. Mongol is the brand (The students will raise hands)
name of pencil. Can you give another
example:
Candice.
Yes Erika?

Very good Erika!

Philippines
How about you Rain?

That’s right, Rain! Very good.

How about the common nouns?

Common nouns name any class of
persons, places or things. It starts with
small letter except if they begin a
sentence. For example pencil. Can you
give another example?
candy
Yes Alrizah?

Very Good Alrizah!

d. Motivation
Class do you want to sing?
Yes, Teacher Xane!
Good. Let us watch first the short video
clip of song I have here.
(Let them watch the clip)

Do you want to repeat the song?

Yes teacher.
Okay, Aniel and Candice, can you come
in front?
(selected students come in front)
Everybody, let’s sing together!

I am happy, I am happy,
(pointing to yourself)
You are happy, You are happy,
(pointing to your partner)
He is happy, He is happy,
(pointing to a boy)
She is happy, She is happy,
(pointing to a girl)
We are happy, We are happy,
(put your arms out with hands bending
inwards in the "group hug" gesture)
They are happy, They are happy.
(point around the classroom to different
students with both hands)
e. Lesson Proper

Class, when we say “I”, it means we are

referring to ourselves. When we say
“You”, we are referring to our partner or
to our classmate, when we say “he”, we
are referring to a boy.
For example, Is Aniel a boy or a girl?
Teacher, Aniel is a boy.
That’s correct. If we are referring to a
boy, what will we use, he or she?
He!
Very good.
(showing a picture of a boy)
How about this boy?
E, can you read the sentence on the
picture?
Ben is playing a ball.
Yes, Ben is playing the ball. Who is the
subject or noun in the sentence?
Yes, MJ?
Ben!
That’s right!
So if we’re going to change the noun or
the subject in the sentence which is Ben,
we’re going to change it into “he”
because it refers to a boy.
What will be our sentence then?

Yes, Pierre?
He is playing a ball.
Very good, Pierre!

How about Candice? Is Candice a boy

or a girl?
Teacher, Candice is a girl.
That’s right! So, if we are referring to a
girl, we use “she”. Do you understand?
Yes teacher.
(showing a picture of a girl)
How about this girl? Can you read it,
Eunice?
Anna is eating an apple.
So, is Anna a boy or a girl?
Girl.
Yes, Anna is a girl. So, what pronoun
are we going to use? Is it he or she?
She.
If we’re going to rephrase the sentence it
will be what?
Yes, KB?

She is eating an apple.

Very Good KB!
(showing a picture of dog)
Let us have the last one. It is use when
we refer to ana animal or a thing. Please
read the sentence.
