Smartick is an online method for teaching mathematic to children aged 4-14 years. Javier
and Daniel create the Smartick because of the Spain’s poor PISA (the Programme for
International Student Assessment) result in math. They concerned about it because math
was perceived as a key subject for the generation’s future, but the interest in this subject
was not growing. Smartick main rival in the market is Khan Academy which founded as a
non-profit educational organization that offered free world-class education for anyone and
anywhere. Khan Academy originally offered videos focused on math but its courses had
expand to the other subjects. To be successful in e-learning industry Smartick should
differentiate themselves to other competitors, and to know our differentiation, we should
know our value proposition. Value proposition is a promise of value to be delivered
(conversionxl.com). According to www.impactbnd.com, a truly great value proposition is a
statement that paints a clear picture of what your brand has to offers to prospects.

From the table we could see that the “cognitive training content” is the strongest
differentiator of Smartick from the rest of the market. Cognition is the mental action or
process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the
senses. It encompasses processes such as knowledge attention, memory and working
memory, judgement and evaluation, reasoning and computation, problem solving and
decision making, comprehension and production of language (wikipedia.com). The cognitive
training content is the unique value proposition smartick can offer because based on the
table none of the competitors concern about it. While other competitors focusing on the
subject, smartick not only focusing on math but also improving reading comprehension and
student’s development like problem-solving and critical thinking. This key differentiator can
help Smartick to get strong first impression to prospective customers and it will make
Smartick success in e-learning industry.
