Introduction
According to Francisco (24), the population and Latino presence in the United States
has grown and have improved their situations as immigrants. Contrary to popular belief,
Latino immigration is not something that started. Latino people have lived in the southern
United States, which was once part of Mexico. When the United States decided to conquer
these territories, not only acquired more land, but also acquired more people and new
cultures. Because of this, through the history of the Latin people in the United States there
has been conflicts that have resulted in laws created, which normally favor white people.
Although the anti-immigrant policy has had and continues to have, a great impact on life and
in the future of Latino immigrants, politics is not the only problem with which Latinos face.
Despite the fact that many Latinos are trying to join the culture of the United States,
several are faced with socio-economic, educational, and access to health services inequalities
and this aggravates the situation. While it is true that the support of friends and relatives is
very important, depending on the problem, sometimes professional help is needed, which is
not sought, sometimes because of lack of resources and sometimes because of the stigma
about diseases. Some studies estimate that less than 10% of Latinos with Emotional Disorders
seek the services of a mental health specialist. If you feel frequent sadness, nervousness,

fatigue, or irritability, it may not be something temporary but some kind of mental health
Moreover many of the Latino immigrants have been victims of racism, hate crimes,
and have suffered the violation of their basic human rights to through laws and reforms in
opposition to immigration. Latinos living in the States today face the violence of physical
hatred, and suffer from the violence and psychological hatred. Apart from the harm suffered
by victims of violence, the violence and hate crimes also affect other Latinos who have not
been attacked because it causes them to fear for their safety and for the safety of their family.
It seems outrageous that the United States could have stopped most of the racism against
African American people in the past, still does not exist today, but not racism and violence
against Latinos and which is ignored and overlooked even today. So far, Latinos have hoped
to stop the racism produced by politics, Violence, and hate crimes. However, Latinos have
had and will continue to have a positive impact on economic and cultural aspects, among
other things.
The mental ills of modern life affect anyone. However, the immigrant must adapt to a
new culture with different customs and a different language, living - in addition - experiences
of discrimination and inequality. Mental health is related to the way one thinks, feels and acts
regularly, in different circumstances of life. For example, all people feel worried, anxious,
sad or stressed from time to time. Nevertheless, if these feelings remain for a long time and
interfere with work or personal relationships, then it is likely to be a mental health problem. It
is estimated that only one in five families in the United States suffers from these types of
problems, including depression, phobias, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, among the most
common. Moreover, immigrants, including those of Hispanic or Latino origin, are more
likely to develop them. The good news is that all these conditions are usually treatable and
Of course, mental health problems are not unique to the United States or to Latinos,
they can affect anyone, regardless of where they live, at any time. The most fundamental
problem facing this situation is that you have the wrong idea in front of them, a "stigma" that
stops when it comes to seeking help or going with the doctor or a qualified professional to
establish the diagnosis and Receiving appropriate treatment. Whether it is for grief (shame) or
thinking that you should have the strength to get ahead alone, this consultation is avoided
when actually it has nothing to do with strength. Just as high blood pressure and diabetes are
diseases that are not treated with strength, depression, panic attacks and other mental
disorders also require treatment from a professional. However, some studies indicate that,
because immigrants tend to have more stress, because of the cultural changes they are
exposed to, they are more likely to suffer some type of mental health problem.

loved ones and family member. According toGutiérrez (355) the immigrant must adapt to a
new culture with different customs and a different language, in addition, can be discriminated
against and often even leads to conditions of life that are not good. All this can lead to certain
