Eligibility and fee information for students
Fees are reviewed annually and this fee schedule relates to the 2016 calendar year only. The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. The material fee provided in this schedule includes only
those materials provided to you and excludes any materials you may have to purchase in addition to this.
# To receive a Victorian Government subsidy you must meet the Victorian Training Guarantee eligibility criteria and be able to provide evidence to support you meeting this criteria.
## If you are a Victorian Government subsidised student, you may be entitled to a concession on your tuition and student services and amenities fee if you meet additional eligibility criteria. If you are studying in a Diploma or above qualification you
are not eligible to have a concession applied to your tuition fees. Under the Indigenous Completions Initiative, Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander students pay only the concession tuition fee (20% of the tuition fee for the course) for government
subsidised training at all qualification levels (including at Diploma and above).
The tuition fee for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is charged at the standard tuition fee rate for Victorian Government subsidised students and at 50% of the standard tuition fee rate for full‐fee students.
Paying your fees
You must pay your tuition fees by the due date indicated on your invoice/statement of account, which can be accessed via the MyVU Portal. Alternatively, eligible students may have the option of applying for a fee extension if you are experiencing
difficulty in paying your fees due to financial hardship or other special circumstances, you may be eligible for a payment plan where you are able to pay your tuition fees in installments and/or a VET FEE‐HELP loan which is available to eligible
students enrolling in a diploma or above qualification and selected Certificate IV level qualifications and can be used to cover up to 100% of your tuition fees. More information about VET course tuition/material fees and your eligibility for a Victorian
Government subsidy is available at: www.vu.edu.au/courses/fees‐assistance/vocational‐education‐vetafe‐course‐fees.
Withdrawal / Refunds
If you wish to cease or take a break from studies you must formally withdraw from your course by signing a TAFE Withdrawal Form. If you do not formally withdraw by the withdrawal date relevant to your course, you will still be liable for all fees.
More information about refunds is available at: www.vu.edu.au/courses/fees‐assistance/refunds‐remission‐of‐debt.
Student services and amenities fee (SSAF)
The SSAF contributes to the provision of improved services and amenities of a non‐academic nature to all students at Victoria University. The SSAF for vocational education students is based on a rate that is calculated depending on your enrolment
load (number of hours you are enrolled), with an overall maximum fee cap.
