DC control device (first under Universal Serial Bus controllers) should not be present if using the

supplied VCP driver on our driver CD. The driver has been modified to not use the DC control device.

If you can't get the DC control device to disappear when reinstalling driver then try the following:

1. Disconnect the scanner

2. Open the PC's registry (Start -> Run -> regedit)

3. Go to the following registry location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\dc_enum\Parameters

4.Change the value of the "UseControlDevice" to 0, new DWORD value may have to be created if
"UseControlDevice" is not visible.

5.Reconnect the scanner
