I start my career in the National Water Supply & Drainage Board as a technical Officer in 1975 and retired
as a chief engineer in 2010. During this period construction of large scale water supply projects as well
as pipe laying of all types in all diameters were done. I have experience in direct supervision as well as
supervise monitor and manage contractors.

I have worked with foreign construction company called Kampsax Krruger in 1984 to 1987 in Matale
Plonnaruwa Water Supply Project, in 2004 as a Chief Engineer (Construction) in Eastern Province
handling construction activities in Ampara and Baticoloa Districts. In 2007 as a Chief Engineer in the
Nuwaraeliya District Water Supply Project, and finally retired as a Chief Engineer in charge of the
Development section in the RSC Central National Water Supply & Drainage Board Peradeniya.

I am a corporate member in the Institution of Incorporated Engineers of Sri Lanka, and a graduate
member in civil engineering of the City & Guilds of (UK).

After my retirement I worked as a civil engineer on a short term assignment preparing base line study on
water supply & sanitation in tea estates with a consultancy firm called “Environment Management Lanka
(EML)” for the World Bank. Thereafter as the Project Manager, Squire Mech Engineering (Pvt) Ltd,
Trincomalee Integrated Water Supply Project, Kantale. Thereafter as civil engineer for Kolon Global
Corporation, in charge of the construction of water treatment plant for Ruhunupura Water Supply Project
in Ambalantota. Then as a Training Specialist for Greentec Consultants for Jaffna Kilinochchi Water
Supply Project, thereafter as the local civil manager in charge of the Puttlam Water Supply Project for
Kolon Global Corporation and at present as a Resident Engineer Grntmij Consultants, Distribution
Network 1, Jaffna Kilinochchi Water Supply Project .
